Hack of Final Fantasy II

Description:

FF2Turbo is a gameplay hack of Final Fantasy II (SNES) that aims to minimize the time spent waiting between gameplay-relevant interactions, while leaving the original game’s core gameplay intact. Specifically:

  • Mandatory cutscenes and gameplay-relevant optional events (eg. Odin) are cut down almost entirely, to their barest essential changes. (Gameplay-irrelevant events, such as dancers, are left intact.)
  • The player dashes on the map by default (hold Y to walk).
  • New games default to battle speed 1 and battle message speed 1.
  • Menu animations are sped up.
  • Battles play out at normal speed but most in-battle event messages have been removed.
  • Various other animations (mostly vehicles) have been shortened.
