Castlevania III: Richter Mode Hack
« on: June 23, 2017, 04:57:41 pm »
Just wanted to share something I'm working on. As the title states, Richter mode allows you to play as Richter Belmont, who already looks suspiciously similar to Trevor, slicing through the events of Castlevania III with the goal of giving good old Dracula a nice taste of his whip!

So far in the hack, Richter has some altered sprites to fit his Rondo of Blood appearance, with a fabulous sleeveless coat, boots, and a headband and pants that match his skin color because NES! He's also a glass cannon, taking extra damage but wielding three times the starting hearts at fifteen to reflect his magical capabilities in Symphony of the Night and very low strength, taking as much damage as Grant and Sypha. He comes with four lives to alleviate the difficulty.

To be added in the final version

-Dealing extra damage to enemies

-Lone wolf action, no taking partners this time around!

-Modified weapons (?)

-A new title screen and storyline

So that's great and all, but I do have a few questions for you hex editors (something which I can't claim to be good at myself). Where is the damage Trevor/Richter do to enemies located in the hex? And how would one edit the title text and screen? As well as eliminate the partner system entirely.

Basically, the things I listed above  ::)
