New Castlevania: Cadence of Agony in the works by myself and a new team (most need to be found.)  It will be an actual full on conversion hack along with utilizing the full potential of the MMC5 chip including an actual MMC5 sound engine.

It will be years until it's released so please be patient in it's development!

I stumbled on these 2 hacks on youtube, a 2 player hack of Shatterhand and a 2 player hack of Mighty Final Fight:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOMbEaotTRU&t=2h12m

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKFaV9Nwh_g&t=23m35s

Does anyone know where to get these hacks, perhaps someone who speaks Russian?
They're not on this site and my google-fu didn't help. There is a 2 player hack of Mighty Final Fight on this site but it's not the same one, this one lets you coop against enemies.

There looks to be some download links in the description, but they look kinda sketchy, so I would proceed with caution if you want to upload them to Romhacking.net.

My progress on the "Dark Mode" hack for Dragon Warrior 3 (didn't record audio, by the way). It is a huge pain.

Hi everybody,

I'm glad to share with you my first Walkthrough video about Dragon Quest 3! 😎

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvtK27wN5Pg

I've used some tips from Romhacking.net and I gave you a credits at the end of the video.
Anyway, it was a pleasure to make it and hope you'll like it.

PS: The illustration of the video thumbnail has been done by myself. It's a repro from the original Nes cover.

Cheers,

Not a rom hacking video, but I love this channel and I was watching this video the other night about how they reverse engineered Diablo and wrote a client for it

Here's my work in progress on a text hook for Madara 2 using Wanderbar. So far it extracts all kana text from the character's dialog box and, whenever a kanji is printed in-game, it shows its charcode. If anyone can tell me how many different kanji this game uses (an approximate number, to have an idea of what I'm dealing with), that info would be really useful to me for making the kanji tablefile. Thanks.

I took a look at the Madara 2 ROM and saw the kanji sitting there nicely formatted, so I made a list of the kanji. I did it in only a few minutes so I might've made a mistake but I think it's probably 99% correct.

http://tomato.fobby.net/junk/madara2-kanji-list.txt

I took a quick look and the character 0x40 in your video is 行 which matches line 0x40 in the text file (if you start counting from 0 of course)

Wow, that's been quick! :o I was mentally preparing myself to start searching the kanji manually by taking notes of them one by one while playing, hehehe. This will save me quite a few hours of work, I'm really grateful.  Doesn't matter if the list isn't 100% correct, it gives me an approximate idea of how many there are: around 340. I feared there were gonna be more.

I was giving some thinking to all of this and it occurred to me I could add to the sidebar a little form where one could write the English translation and then send it to a database containing the lineID and the English translation (perhaps I could create a small API with a CRUD framework such as Laravel or Rails), and then implement some way of retrieving all those lines at once in "Wanderbar format" (that is, plain HTML with every dialog entry on a div element), or also retrieve it in JSON format, or any other. I think that'd be a relatively comfortable way of translating a game while playing it.

I'll see if I can put this idea into work. Thanks again!

Here's some improvements I've made to the Madara 2 text hook function I've been developing in Wanderbar
