I tried to play the patched game in Magic Engine and it just stays black :/ the unpatched one works fine

Try with Mednafen or Ootake.

or email me if you have problems (it's the tomaitheous email address in the readme). It works in ME and mednafen. I haven't played it through with Ootake yet, but it should work fine.

Is this game like Snatcher? At least that's what the short description sounds like to me. If it is, I'm propably very interested  If not, could someone tell me what kind of game this is?

 It's like snatcher, but not on the same level (it's only a 4 meg cart). If you're a BGC fan or PCE fan, go for it
