Staff note: This hack has been removed from the site as it is not yet a full release.

Final Fantasy IX-2: Last Fate take beyond limits, keeping the same events +
new events with:
-new encounters / battle script
-temporary characters to recruit along the way
-new Summons, boost power; Shinryu, Tianlong, etc.
-easter eggs to other FF games
-adding tracks from various FF games while retaining the original.
-some other additions to come for the locale.

The first release is a teaser. Focuses mainly on gameplay side including edit to spell animations (partial) limited to minimise potential crashing. As you will see there are new features and mechanics awaiting.

Seems like this was released too early. It's an interesting project though!

Not sure how I feel about the first release being a teaser. This could potentially lead to a lot of negative reviews since what's being described is essentially an alpha phase in a hack that's going to be in development for quite some time. Mainly commenting to reference this back down the line when the project is complete.

If being nitpicky one could argue that uploading teaser hacks breaks site policy. Quoting from the Hacks\Non-Permitted Items section of said policy:

QuoteDemos/Alphas/Betas: Any incomplete version of a hack, usually given out well before the final version is ready, for feedback or other purposes is not accepted. You may post such hacks on the forum.

Would certainly seem to apply in this case. At the very least I don't think a pre-alpha "This may or may not be a complete hack at some point in the indeterminate future" hack merits a front-page post.

Is there some particular tool that is being used to make this? (And is that tool compatible with the later releases for other platforms?)
This signature is an illusion and is a trap devisut by Satan. Go ahead dauntlessly! Make rapid progres!

I think an FF9 hack is a cool idea, lord knows FF6 has a ton of em. But I have to agree it might've been better to wait till the hack is a bit further along. That being said, it's not the first time someone's posted an unfinished hack and those can eventually turns really good with time and updates. Keyword being CAN.

I hate to say it but bad reviews are still helpful to some degree since you'd want to know what people dislike so you can fix it. But not everyone is gonna readily read the entire post and see that it's an alpha so...

After reading the other comments, I see that this shouldn't have been approved in the first place since it's not a complete build, and wanting feedback is why I imagine it was uploaded as unfinished to begin with. Now why the staff approves stuff like this but takes down or refuses to post legitimate content, we'll never know.
