Bowser a true villain!!

Kotaku Article

Hacker arrested for a chip that jailbreaks the Nintendo Switch so users can play pirated games in it. During his prison sentence he still had to pay them, and I think over 2 years he saved up $75 from prison wages to pay Nintendo. He'll probably spend the rest of his life paying them off for damages.

I'm not sure where the line is for "this chip can be used for homebrewed games" and "use this chip to play copyrighted games illegally" but that's a pretty big difference!! Nintendo has a reputation as a the most strict enforcer of hackers, and with their latest Super Mario movie and Super Nintendo Land I don't know why you'd want to promote stealing. Oh well.

I don't know why you're linking to an article from a year and a half ago? The latest big excitement regarding this was that he was released from prison early.

I haven't been following the story very closely, but I'm vaguely aware that he was very deliberately flaunting the law.
