Since this list is already obsolete (with the addition of NBA JAM and NHL series!), well, I might say as well...

"Oh my! He's on fire! :o  "

Illusion of Gaia could probably use one, as it does get heavy on slowdown at times.

Quote from: kandowontu on March 21, 2023, 11:09:24 PMLets hope TAS runs can be captured soon, then that makes it possible.

If you guys want to contribute, you can record a full playthrough on Mesen-S and upload the emulator's movie file.

And that goes for other requested games as well I suppose.

No they would need to be recorded with BSNES Diztinguish build (https://github.com/binary1230/bsnes-plus/releases)

Also Secret of Mana was done today, it was coded in hi-rom so it was an easy conversion ;)

Awesome! I think you pulled that off in less time than it takes to do a playthrough.

How bout Mega Man X? There are SA-1 patch nearby, but it not work on Canoe. So Fastrom will be awesome!

Valkyrie

Dunno if this got asked already, but how about Gokujyo Parodius? I remember that game being pretty prone to major slowdowns...

Megaman X is fastrom natively, it shipped fastrom.

All Parodius games are either Fastrom or SA-1 already from the factory, except Parodius Non-Sense Fantasy which I converted.

Ah - somehow SNES9x labeled is as LoRom for me. Oh well.

On that end, I saw Legend of Mystical Ninja get a FastRom-treatment - is there a possibility for the original Japanese version? The retranslation hack for that game only supports Japanese version ATM.  :o

LoRom/HiRom don't necessarily mean Fast/Slowrom...open the rom in mesen, open the REGISTER VIEWER and look at the FASTROM LINE ($420D.0)

Here's a WIP list of confirmed slowrom games:

The NBA Jam games weren't fastrom?! Didn't they disable in-game music because the SNES didn't have enough available power to process everything AND the background music?! It's because of this, that the MSU1 hack is the only way to have in-game music. My dislike for LJN/Acclaim just went up another notch.

With Super Turrican & Super Turrican 2 Special Edition converted, is Super Turrican Collection also in the pipeline?

To try and answer as briefly as possible.

1) The SNES had various rom types that changed how the data was stored and accessed. SlowROM allows data access of 2.67 MHz while fastROM has speeds up to 3.58 MHz. This means slowROM games converted to fastROM can see a significant boost simply because data can be accessed at a faster rate.

2) Money is the reason. fastROMs were slightly more expensive so if the game could run decently using slowROM, companies would save those few pennies.

I believe the memory mapping has been researched quite thoroughly. I would recommend anyone to read the wiki on SNES programming for more info.
