Hi! Big newbie here. So as the title says, I've come across some issues when following the instructions that come with the Dragon Force II english patch. The first step is the one that gives me problems, as I load my image of the game in Isobuster but no "Unreadable sector" message pops.

I've tried to continue with the process ignoring this error and burning the cd but it won't work, so the problem's gotta be that. Any ideas on how could I fix that? Im trying to make it work on an original japanese sega saturn with the Phantom mod and the image I'm using is using the bin/cue format.

(This is the readme I'm following https://www.romhacking.net/translations/saturn/patches/1622readme.txt)

Thank you for linking to the readme.

Well, that's not what the readme says! The readme says that error message happens when you're ripping your original disc, not when you're loading an image into Isobuster.

The readme also doesn't say anything about burning a CD. It is entirely possible the translation will never work on original Saturn hardware. Have you been able to use other burned CDs on your Saturn?

So you extracted the user data to a .iso file? Burning the .iso file directly instead of using a bin/cue might be a problem.

Hmm that's true, I assumed that because I haven't seen anyone use a different procedure

From what I've read from other users, its possible to play it on original saturn hardware if modded. From the readme: only SSF or a modded Saturn can play Dragon Force II fully. And answering your question yes, I've patched other games (Policenauts for example) and they have worked without problems

Yes, I have tried to burn the iso directly but without having much idea I could already guess that this would not work

Thanks for having the time to respond  :)

Missed this before.

You will need to convert the bin/cue into iso/wav/cue, assuming the disc has audio tracks.  I think TurboRIP is the recommended way of doing that.  Then you can try directing your disc-burning program to the .cue file after patching the .iso, and hopefully everything will be fine.

Or you can follow the video. (At least it has chapter stops.)
