If you count the Sega CD yeah.  But I mean the Game Gear ones.

Quote from: PRG on July 13, 2023, 09:31:48 PMI would like to see a hack for the GBA Final Fantasy games (I-II DoS, IV, V, VI) that removes or improves the gradient on text and menu boxes. They look fine with the default colors, but look atrocious when you pick darker colors. FFVI's also do not look very great compared to the SNES version's on any background.
Give this a try:
https://github.com/lightbulb-sun/ffdos-no-gradients
Should remove all the gradients in the main menu and both games in Final Fantasy I-II DoS.
But if it doesn't, let me know.

EDIT: Here's FFIV: https://github.com/lightbulb-sun/ffiv-no-gradients
EDIT 2: FFV: https://github.com/lightbulb-sun/ffv-no-gradients/

A simple hack idea in the SNES versions of Street Fighter (Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Street Fighter II: Turbo Hyper Fighting and Super Street Fighter II): that the special ending of the game is activated in any difficulty level.

They look really good, it's exactly what I'm looking for, though while I use dark teal backgrounds myself, a dark teal border exists that might clash with non-blue backgrounds.

However there is a compatibility issue with Piggy Chan's color improvement and restoration hacks for FFIV and V, and Bregalad's sound and music restoration patches. If applied to an edited rom, they simply don't work. If the other hacks are applied afterwards, the game crashes.

Quote from: lightbulbsun on July 13, 2023, 02:08:34 PMGive this a try for Kirby's Dream Land:
https://github.com/lightbulb-sun/kirby1-hover-hack
Let me know if there are any bugs.

I was just thinking this morning that the first three Kirby games would benefit from something like this before I saw this post, and it works wonderfully so far and appears compatible with the DX hacks from Dreamland as well.

Edit: After some more examination, the teal border is present on FF1 and FF4, black border on FF2, and teal and grey on different menus in FF5.

GAME   : DOUBLE DRAGON
CONSOLE: SEGA MASTER SYSTEM
IDEA   : IMPROVEMENT

Make enemies take less hits.
Enemies in this port have so much health, it takes forever to kill them.
The game would be so much more enjoyable if this was toned down a little bit.

anybody plans to hack/improve/fix Night Creatures for the TurboGrafx-16 so that it is actually playable?

I'm reasonably certain I've changed all the border colors from teal/gray to black:
FF1: https://github.com/lightbulb-sun/ffdos-no-gradients/releases/tag/v1.1
FF4: https://github.com/lightbulb-sun/ffiv-no-gradients/releases/tag/v1.1

Such a small nitpick, but any way to port the full "Metal Gear: Ghost Babel" title/logo from the Japanese version overtop the European "Metal Gear Solid" (unclear if it pops up anywhere else beyond the titlescreen).

Thank you, they look perfect, I haven't played through the entire games with them to see issues yet though, but the menus looks good and dialogue and combat looks good.

However, is it possible to make them compatible with the EU versions of the games? It might fix compatibility issues with other graphics hacks, as a lot of them appear to use the EU versions, especially FF4, as the EU version is considered preferable overall due to bug-fixes.

I'm sure I mentioned this in the previous thread, but someone needs to turn Hello Kitty World's protagonist back into Nintendo's character, Alice, as the game was originally the Gameboy sequel to Balloon Fight with an Adventure Mode, that they decided to slap a Sanrio Lisence onto.  I would prefer playing as Alice.

Failing that though...... I would at least prefer a version where you play as Keroppi.  Keroppi is much better than Kitty.

On that note, sram score saving for Balloon Fight please, I just got a pretty decent score and it made me sad to power down my NES.
Somebody alert me when a user friendly BS Zelda hacking tool is made. I will give my soul to work on a faithful SNES remake of Zelda 1.

Great ! Applying the patches on normal roms, it works perfect. However if the games are patched to MSU-1 it will not be possible to apply the patch directly, you will have to take the ips file and rename it to the same name as the rom that is in the MSU-1 folder keeping the IPS extension and put it it in that same folder. In that case they will also work perfectly. I must say it was a great job and I am very grateful for it.

REQUEST: Make Pokeys go back and forth when colliding with cacti, instead of going right through them to kill your character, as is seen here. It's said that your character could be protected from getting stung by Pokey from behind a cactus, but this is not true unless this was a bug/oversight.

Recently I posted on the BombermanBoard about my work in translating Saturn Bomberman Fight!! (Sega Saturn), which is very close to completion.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TnUpq6HUBjms-zWwN0qYV-q_mQva2aaWuKOzos5aO7o/edit?usp=sharing
I've been directed here to see if anyone here is able to put these into the game. So yeah, if anyone here can help me with that, it'd be appreciated. (Is this the correct place for this type of request? I'm not very used to forums in general)

Street Fighter EX2 Plus (Sony PlayStation): A hack that will restore the red blood from the Japanese version.

Would it be possible also patches for the Sega Genesis versions (Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition and Super Street Fighter II)? In that generation of consoles the only port that had the full ending natively at any level was the PC Engine. Thanks again.

There is a couple of people over at SegaXtreme who are actively working on translating the game.
I know they specifically are trying to finish the story part of the game too, everything else is done I believe.
I'm sure they would really appreciate your assistance.

So, today I learned Front Mission Gun Hazard has a hidden 2P mode accessible by pressing ↓+L+R+Start on the second controller, which allows player 2 to control the Support unit. Why not have it so just pressing Start on 2nd controller does the trick? And perhaps make it so pressing Select as 2nd controller reverts to "Auto Mode".

On other things, make the Laser Primary stronger to compensate for how miserable its aim is, give Secondary Weapons infinite uses overall (but balance by making them weaker and/or having to reload) so it is more tempting to use them instead of Knuckle.
