So, Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance and Tournament Edition for the GBA have an odd bug: If the brightness slider isn't set to default, certain background elements won't be affected by brightness (will have normal brightness), and projectiles and effects (Bo Rai Cho's vomit, Scorpion's flames) will turn pure white (as if their brightness has been cranked meyond the max). Perhaps someone could figure those?

I was playing this game and it'd be cool to see a hack that when you get hurt, your power decreases.

#462
The Mysterious Murasame Castle
GBA: "Famicom Mini 22 - Nazo no Murasame Jou"

The FDS "Nazo no Murasame Jou" has a T-Eng
However the GBA "Famicom Mini 22 - Nazo no Murasame Jou" doesn't have an english translation available. (Or far as I am aware of, I haven't seen/found it/one)
(Apologies if this has already been completed or has already been suggested in this topic)

Stupid idea ahoy:
Link riding Epona as a racer in different games, like F-Zero, Mario Kart, etc.

Less stupid idea:
Super Kart Bros Advance and 64. Basically, a hack of games like Mario Kart Super Circuit, Konami Krazy Racers, Mario Kart 64, where characters are replaced with various Nintendo characters riding a personalized vehicle, as well as the items and tracks. For example, the characters in Super Circuit could be Mario, Link, Samus, Pit, Captain Falcon, Donkey Kong (only "unchanged" one, if anything he'd get a new vehicle), Fox McCloud, and Kirby.

Okay, kind of a strange idea, but you know how the GBA version of Donkey Kong Country 3 had that controversial new soundtrack? I know this was done to prevent burnout on the speakers of certain GBA models, but at the end of the day I prefer the original soundtrack... even on Donkey Kong Land 3 for the Game Boy.

Why am I bringing that up? Well, what if someone did a hack that imports the Game Boy game's soundtrack onto the GBA game? It'd be easier than recreating the entire soundtrack from scratch, and it'd make this version feel much closer to the SNES original. Sure it wouldn't sound as good as the SNES game, but hey, Capcom didn't care when doing their remakes of SNES games such as Mega Man & Bass or Super Ghouls n' Ghosts, so why not?

It was because the SNES game didn't sound like it belonged with the first two.  The music was so different that they called back David Wise to compose a brand new OST for the GBA version of DKC3 that sounds more in line with DKC 1 and 2.  I actually want someone to hack the GBA OST into the SNES version of DKC3.

Quote from: gamingcat02261991 on May 07, 2023, 10:20:01 PMI have a few requests:

1. A ROM Hack of Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures/Hello! Pac-Man for the SNES that allows for SRAM save support while allowing the password-exclusive features like Sound Test, Pattern Test, etc. to be unlocked depending on your percentage after finishing the game instead of simply giving you a password (due to the Password option being replaced with a Continue feature), with a fourth (fifth in the EU release) option titled "Secret" becoming available after clearing the game with a percentage to unlock something.
2. A ROM Hack of Super Mario Bros. that replaces the infamous World -1 with the coveted "Secret Chocolate Factory" level mentioned in an issue of How to Win at Nintendo Games by Jeff Rovin.
3. A ROM Hack of Super Mario World that replaces Mario with Princess Daisy using her design prior to Mario Party 4 (with Luigi being replaced by a monochrome version of Daisy) and replaces Princess Peach with Luigi. In the case of the Super Mario World DX ROM Hacks, she'd be given the same stats and double jump from Super Mario Run.

Here's a few more:

1. A ROM Hack of Wario's Woods on the NES that gives Wario a white hat rather than a purple one for consistency with his artwork back then.
2. A ROM Hack of Bomberman on the NES that replaces its namesake character (and the Lode Runner character he turns into in the ending) with Honey, the cowgirl character who not only appears in a number of Japanese commercials for Bomberman games, but also a few games like Bomberman: Party Edition.
3. A ROM Hack of Pac-Land on the Famicom that adds an 8-Bit conversion of Monster's Mansion BGM (a.k.a. the theme from the 1982 cartoon that normally plays in Mezmeron's presence).
4. A ROM Hack of Paper Mario that adds Luigi as a (optional) ninth partner.
5. A ROM Hack of Metroid II: Return of Samus based on the "JUSTIN BAILEY" mode of the original game where Samus lacks her Power Suit, but instead wears a version of her usual suit from that mode that becomes the famous Zero Suit from Metroid: Zero Mission when obtaining the Varia upgrade.

Small dumb one, but with Gradius 3, there's the unlock for Arcade mode that involves a considerable amount of button mashing.

"In the Options menu, highlight the Game Level, and rapidly tap the A BUTTON until the level turns into ARCADE."

A small hack that just adds that as a normal select-able difficulty option would be nice to as not to have to do that every time you load it up.

Well the third game did have the Kongs going to an entirely new continent, so I'd say Novakovic's unusual soundtrack fits the game's mood, just like Wise's darker soundtrack fit the second game's pirate-themed world.

I do like the idea of working the GBA version's music into the SNES original, though. Maybe we could even have an option to switch between the two soundtracks like in the 2011 remake of Sonic CD.

The DKC games in general could use more hacks, really. Like, I'm shocked we didn't get someone putting Dixie in the first game until relatively recently.

Try this for the US version of the ROM:
With a hex editor go to offset 0x341b and change the byte from 0x02 to 0x03.

Hi! I'm new to the site and to hacking in general. I would like to try hacking Super Return of the Jedi (SNES).

One idea I was thinking of was to take the Boba Fett fight from Super Empire Strikes Back and port that battle into Super Return of the Jedi (replacing the boss of the sail barge stage).
It would also be nice to toss a couple of shield powerups into the final Death Star escape just to make that section of the game a little more bearable.

I'm reading some of the documents this site provides on the basics of hex editing and tile layer pro, although it will be awhile before I understand these things well enough to successfully hack the game myself, since I'm new to this kind of thing.

There was a fanmade DKC4 in the works.  It hasn't been updated for a while though.

Can anyone hack Brush Roller to look it like Splatoon? I mean, editing title screen, logo, sprites and maybe music? It is the most similar game to Splatoon in NES that's why I am asking.

2 player mode for the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for the NES please! :woot!:

Wow that actually worked out, thanks for that!

I see that there's some arcade romhacks, and so i came to make this request. If somoeone can make a Gradius III arcade romhack, which reduces the notorious brutal and punishing difficulty, in order to make it experienceable and playable, like Gradius and Gradius II. Gradius III arcade was an amazing and gorgeous game that due to its hardest difficulty, got criticized a lot making that recycled be-like Gradius II SNES port superior.
I'll hope someone can make this hack for the Japanese version of Gradius III arcade, giving this game a new light.

Dark Mario Bros

a simple and silly one, what if we made mario swapable in the team switch option from Super Mario RPG (SNES)?

You know, it's a sad shame that the Sailor Moon game boy game that Esperknight was trying to translate never got finished. Maybe someone can have the time to finish the translation of the game or something.

Ideas for Sonic Advance games:
• Implement Colors DS-style Special Stage access (Clear Act 1 with 50+ Rings) for Advance 1 and 2 as an alternative.
• Always keep the Special Stage access open even if you don't have the 10 Chaos key in Advance 3
• Merge the emerald collection for all characters, so you don't need to get all 7 with all characters to be able to get to the true final boss or to unlock stuff.
• For Advance 1, have spin dash and rolling jump be a default action for Amy (she does have a rolling animation in 1 when inside the Secret Base's tubes and a rolling hammer spin in Multiplayer), alongside rolling. Or port from Advance 2.
• Fix Egg Saucer's instakill to either have an audible cue of when it's about to happen or to not happen at all in Advance 2.
• Make Egg Chaser in Advance 3 easier, either by virtue of adding more platforms, making Eggman take half as many hits (4 on normal, 3 on easy, as opposed to 8 and 6 respectively) to defeat, or making Eggman attack less often.

And for Sonic Battle:
• Change Emerl's Skill Point gain to 5 for winning (even if you have been KO'd once) and 10 for perfect win.
• Make rarer Skill Cards more common.
• Lower SP requirement across all Skill Cards (specially so Ultimate Emerl can be completed)

I had recently gotten into Pocky and Rocky. Then I realized that the initial game in the series was the FDS game Kiki Kaikai: Dotou Hen.

It appears there is nothing done for this game on romhacking.
Some research brought up some copy protection issues with hidden files. Apparently some emulators still have issues with this game (During boss fights the game will lock up).

If someone knows of anything done with this game, please let me know.
If anyone is willing to take up a project with this, that would be awesome!

Thank you for you time.
