Here's an idea for something I can probably never do: A Mesen graphics overhaul of the Adventures in the Magic Kingdom to give it a modern look as well as fix a bit of the glitches in that game.

A minor one, but it's something I can't seem to find as a standalone thing anywhere unless it's truly tucked away in an internet corner:

Super Mario 64 DS: Cap Select On The Touchscreen For Every Character, Not Just Yoshi

Pretty straightforward ask in theory, I'd just like whatever toggles the Cap Selection options on the Touch Screen before starting a course with Yoshi to also be switched on with the other playable characters so they can have the same ease of access that the adorable green dino has by default.

Also, somewhat optional, but I wouldn't mind if Wario was given the same physics as Mario so he isn't the worst character in the game, while still keeping his strength. The original idea might have been an interesting trade-off if he wasn't so dreadfully sluggish...

It's sad that Working Designs ruined the localization of some of the games I played growing up by both bad dubbing and the translation not very good. While this is probably hopeless, I hope someday, that the games that Working Designs screwed over get proper retranslations. I would love to play Lunar 1, 2, Cosmic Fantasy 2 (with 1, 3, and 4), and Magic Knights Rayearth with the proper relocalization (they could work with the Un-Working Designs mods too) like what we had with the Mega Man X SNES trilogy.

Cosmic Fantasy is getting a Switch compilation with an English translation at least. I imagine it'll be a new translation too.

I got the ultimate idea.  Who doesn't love Resident Evil 0?  Some of you don't?  It's the hookshot right?  How about a hack that turns those 2 slot items into 1 slot, and or for the Hookshot, how about making you permanently carry it like Rebecca's mixing kit and or Billy's light?  That's the ticket.

Nah, it's the game itself.

Saw someone bring up Mighty Final Fight in the Discord and remembered I had started 2 projects around it but never finished them (and probably won't). It would be nice if someone did a retranslation that kept the cut content.

Well, certainly RE0 has some issues.  They all do.  I truly think the double slot items and especially the hookshot are what infuriate people the most.  Having two characters sound great in theory, but they each need to carry their own ammo and you really are forced to leaves things behind you otherwise might not.  If the hookshot didn't take up two slots, or any slots and the grenade launcher, shotgun, hunting shotgun and MP-5 only took up one, would certainly ease the frustration.

I just finished watching a playthrough of that Super Mario Bros. 3 Ultra Edition on YouTube.  I mean that hack made by Doodle Dangernoodle where he changed a bunch of stuff that greatly improved the game and I think it's great.  He did a very good job.

But I had some ideas of my own should he decide to make another edition of that hack.  Such as:

Having Fire Mario with his traditional color scheme of red and white and Fire Luigi be white and green.

Like this:

If you want/need a more thorough sprite sheet of them.

Fire Mario:

Fire Luigi:

Now on SMB3, there are some Mario and Luigi sprites that I think are a little goofy.  There are some where they have only 1 foot.  So I fixed that.

Mario:

Luigi:

The Hammer, Boomerang, Fire and Sledge Bros. sprites on the overworld maps.  They now have their appropriate color schemes.  The Sledge Bros. sprites are from SMB3 GBA.  I made them 8-bit here.

What if you could reenter numbered stages after completing them?  You could pause and be given the choice to continue the stage or exit it, of course.

Now this one might be a bit unpopular with some SMB3 fans.  For the last 12 years or so, I've often wondered what if instead of having those rotary cards at the end of the stages, they had flagpoles just like in SMB1 along with those little castles/fortresses that Mario and/or Luigi run into afterwards.  This is what I had in mind:

I don't know if Doodle Dangernoodle will see these or if he plans on making another hack of SMB3 Ultra Edition.  If he does, great.  I don't know how to get in touch with him.  I just thought I'd throw in some ideas.

With actual Disney music!

Here's one idea I always had:
Trying to port GB/GBC games into the GBA, as to allow for a wider resolution.
I always imagined this for Super Mario Bros Deluxe, it'd be about perfect for that game to have a wider res.

KingMike

You have to rewrite the entire game.
GBA uses an entirely different hardware architecture than GB(C). A real GBA just contains the separate physical hardware to support both.

So there really isn't a way to exploit GBA compatibility with GB(C) games, eh?

Even if there was it is usually only 3d games that have the viewport tweaked to display widescreen with any kind of ease. 2d stuff is either a workaround with emulation (turn up the speed a bit, take savestate, move left, move up, move right, move down, stitch the lot together, hoping any random battles, walls, cutscenes or enemies don't spawn or having game specific cheats to dodge those) or a lot of work (in many cases you can maybe gain an extra tile for free as it is often there for the game to display if you move, anything more than that needs a lot more low level understanding).

I'm surprised no one has considered nor done this, but here's some ideas for A Link To The Past for GBA:
• Have all the bonus content unlocked from the get go WITHOUT having to play Four Swords at all. Example:
 • Four Swords Dungeon would be accessible as soon as you beat ALTTP.
 • Riddle Quest available without needing 10 Triforce Medals.
• Change sword beam to look like a crescent wave thing (like Wizzrobes' magic beams) as opposed to spiraling beam.
• Give Link his blond hair.
• Have Link turn into a wolf instead of a bunny when entering the Dark World without a Moon Pearl or hit by a Rabbit Beam, to reflect his Manga self.
• Remove the hole in the middle of Moldorm's Arena (arena size can stay as is or be expanded a little).

Changing the red in the player's sprites in Pokémon Sapphire into blue. Changing the acro bike to be blue and leaving the mach bike red.

Reversing the red and blue stereoscopy in Rad Racer for the NES, because I think the left and right might be reversed.

If anyone ever considers doing something to the GBC chinese bootleg game called "E Mo Dao" (Devil Island), here is an idea:
Change the art and plot to match Getsu Fuma Den.

WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game was a 1995 arcade game with ports to 32X, DOS, Genesis, PlayStation, Saturn, and SNES. Unfortunately, they were all significantly compromised except for the DOS port (which was great).

The 32-bit ports would've been near-perfect except for the complete lack of in-game music! You play in silence. It significantly harms your enjoyment of the game. Combined with the load times, it makes the otherwise near-arcade-perfect 32-bit ports unplayable.

There were 3 BGMs, each tied to a round (like fighting games, it was best 2 out of 3). Here they are: https://adamblast.com/misc/WWF%20Wrestlemania%20The%20Arcade%20Game/

For the Saturn and/or PS1 versions - Would it be possible to add these 3 songs to the disc, begin play when the round starts, and stop play when a pinfall occurs?

Game: Donkey Kong
Console: ColecoVision
Symptom: Lives counter does not change until next screen (cf. if you score 10,000 points and lose your current life, the lives counter stays the same)
What I wish to do: Fix the lives counter so it changes instantly upon 10,000 points earned.
