Play as "Old Man Link" in The Legend of Zelda The Winter Lion, a new Romhack of Zelda 3, A Link to the Past (SNES)!

Contrasting the common motif of a young man destined by fate and noble birth to be a hero, this retelling spins that idea on its head. Rather, this "Link" is an old hunter who can choose his actions in an ideologically divided world.

I've just started and I'm either stumped or my game is glitching. I've got Zelda and went down the hidden stairs in the throne room. Couple rooms in, there's a door with a keyhole but there's no key to be found. It's not like I can go back to upstairs to search the castle more.

As a note: the chest on the second floor of the Tower of Hera, presumably containing the Big Key for the Tower of Hera cannot be opened, ergo the game cannot be progressed.

There are similar soft-lock situations that can happen related to the fact you're only given one bomb, and if you use it in the incorrect location it seems impossible to get a replacement as I've never seen them drop in bushes, or from enemy kills.

Looks nice but either the game is extremely buggy or I'm unable to patch it properly :/

On my Retrofreak console, the game has a messed up startscreen. After that it seems to run normally but as soon as I enter the castle the game starts glitching out.

If I try it on snes9x on a laptop the rooms change after reentering, which certainly isn't on purpose? Also I always get locked in a blue room in the castle and can't leave it.

Maybe you can provide the exact combination of rom + emulator that works, because I can't find it so far.
