Update v1.0= (Beta version .01 ready for testing.)

This project is for an ultimate version of TMNT-TIT for the SNES. It's already an amazing game. Some awesome patches already exist for it. Poll shows support and there has been a lot of activity in the comments. Locked voting..thanks for voting and replies..further imput is always appreciated and necessary. Im researching this game and how it all works and stuff further. 2 different beta versions have been put together one with msu1 and 1 without.

Beta version .01 implements:
-99 lives or unlimited continues in options menu
-msu1 support
-run with l or r
-a text improvements patch that already exists
-a balance improvement patch that already existed all in one patch.
I'll need a playtester to help test it out and provide feedback..this person will be credited for their work.

Further improvements to come would be:
Switch Turtles in level
A few more tweaks to text
Adding more hp for raphael (its woefully lower than michaelangelo)
Possibly wide screen patch
Some dedicated roll button ala genesis turtles game and shredders revenge.
Other things??? We will see
Colors are good..some added animations from the arcade version would be great

Ive got a nice working version of this I might be able to finish if it's something that's wanted. I'm trying to possibly do the same thing with Terranigma.

MSU-1 is something I think we could do without, especially since it's a pain in the ass to find music packs and set everything up in an emulator (Or heck, even flash carts). But this game really needs some hacks to make it more similar to the arcade original. I'd gladly be a playtester

Infinite Continues? It would be like having a never-ending abundance of quarters, for whenever you are faced with the continue timer ticking down...

Googie

In the Japanese version of Turtles in Time for the SNES, the bosses say something before they die, maybe down the road you can do an English Translation of the Japanese version.

Maybe give Super Shredder's intro line at the start of the final boss fight an American English spelling of "favorite".

This one will be an easy fix..i identified this one as an issue as well bc its based on an arcade game but they left in the ability to have a game over bc they needed it to be more difficult so it wouldnt just be a one time rentql..i can make an easy mode patch with infinite lives sure or 99 lives.basically infinite quarters..lol

Msu1 kinda really kicks butt tho..especially the alternate ost option..it also gives it the voiced intro..with that being said..it can definitely be an optional thing and not the basis of the whole hack..msu1 creates issue with patching compatibility also..for.different reasons it can be more limiting in my experience working with it.so u yeah optional msu1 and not mandatory sounds like a plan.

Thanks for all your work in romhacking Googie. This is interesting, definitely, ill check into this one.

I would love to have a dedicated button for rolling to the sides, similar to how it works on Shredder's Revenge. In Turtles in Time, the move is triggered by jumping while running, and can connect to a slide attack. A dedicated rolling button would add escape options, make the slide move more accesible, and free up "jumping while running" to actually jumping while keeping the running momentum.

Just an idea. I would personally be more interested in a gameplay change like that than I would be for any number of cosmetic/music changes.

Good luck with your project(s)!

Cool project in any case but Turtles in Time on SNES is quite perfect already.
MSU would kick ass but gameplay wise there is not very much.
Adding missing content from the jap version is on most cases a good thing too.

But what I like to propose is another game from Konami > Sunset Riders
The SNES version is cut compared to the arcade version and there is no japanes snes version.
Maybe both can be fixed plus some MSU1 music using the LP OST.

Yeah scd..i used one of his hacks in my mario kart super circuit-freemastered hack i think. In the beta i just threw together for turtles in time his text fix hack is included.

Seconded. This is the way it is in the Genesis's Hyperstone Heist, and it's sooooo nice.

Very interesting..i played shredders revenge and felt it would be nice as well..ill have to load up hyperstone heist and see how it works there. I know there is a run with the r and l buttons that makes running a little easier but im not sure on what it would take to implement this roll as one function.

Been a Turtles in Time player since release, when I was a little turtle. I have played the heck out of the game and made my own "ultimate" version a long time ago gathering the available patches (improved text, balance tweaks, R for running, MSU-1). I could gladly beta test any other improvements planned for it.

peacefighter

I know this might not be possible, but adding additional turtles as playable would be exciting. Slash, Venus, Tokka, etc..This would make turtle fans excited.

They added extra characters in a frickin' Sailor Moon fighting game thanks to an hack, it's definitely possible here too
