Apparently there's an overflow bug with regards to HP gains when you get high enough stamina later in the game.

EDIT: As far as Phoenix Downs go, I'd say any town where there isn't a fountain reasonably close to the dungeon (including inside it) should have them. That means the first few towns shouldn't have any.

It is caused because of space limitations. In this game the power limit that a weapon can have is 255 (FF in hex) because another bit is required otherwise, and I guess the same goes for stamina.  :(

I have an issue about the b-button dash. NPCs that follow you (fifth party members one could say) do not walk one tile behind you. Rather, they seem to do some pathing calculation due to occasionally lollygagging behind you a step or two now and then. With this patch, it becomes very... janky, as they'll wander through walls and get stuck on wall- (and screen-) walking behaviors that is rather immersion-breaking. So do you know to fix this?
Fixed.
It was incredibly easy.

I guess it's time to start to work on the v1.3.  ;D

I hope it will be ready before the next week.

Some changes:

  • Phoenix Downs can be bought at most shops.
  • Make arrows unlimited.
  • Replace the content of some chests.
  • Fix some l/r errors like "Gurgan".
In the meantime you will help a lot by voting in the poll.

Awesome to see that this is going well, also I think Mystic Knight should be change into Dark Knight & I have other suggestions for this project as well.

You mean something like the ninja of the first game (can use some black magic and katanas)?

DavidtheIdeaMan

Yep,you got it.

Also Bards can use some Knives from the DS remake if I remember correctly?

It's a good idea. I'll remove the "Scare" (it's just a waste of time to use it) and replace with Sing (also add Fight as the first command).

DavidtheIdeaMan

Thank you. Heh awesome, just like in the DS version. :)

Also more ideas for ya.

Fighter -> Warrior

And in the remake he has a command known as Advance which is a quick power boost before attacking an enemy plus in the remake, the fighter or warrior rather can use some most Knives,Bows & Arrows but can wield all Swords & Axes.

I'll add axes to the warrior's arsenal and try to rename it.
I'll also try to port the "Advance" ability.

In other news, I managed to fix the two most notable r/l errors of the translation:

If someone knows about other l/r error let me know to fix it.

Buffing Red Mage would be great... as it is, it's not a very good class at all (especially now that Fighters can use Wightslayer).

I think the simplest fix would be to improve its weapons and armor access, maybe allow it to use up to level 6 spells (with low slot count), specialist mages get more slots and can access level 7 IIRC.

Also, if you're looking to make each class special (something the DS version *tried* to do but failed), I was thinking something that would set White/Black mage aside from their "upgraded" versions (Devout/Magus) would be if they didn't get a penalty for targeting all allies/enemies with their spells. A simple solution, but it could help set them apart.

Scholar is another class that may need some help. Maybe access to bows and some light armors/bracelets and not consuming combat items (like Zeus Wrath) on use would be useful? It's a gimmick class, but it could be fun for some players to experiment.

Anyway, I don't really know how much you can do, but here's my 50 cents, lol.

I'll try to implement that.
I'll let the Red Mage use Level 5 (to prevent it from being to powerful).

Done the Hunter -> Ranger.
The "Boost" ability was renamed to "Focus" but I guess "Boost" has more sense, with the other names I'll try to edit the double characters. (There are some that can be reused like "warlock")

DavidtheIdeaMan

Dang,my bad XD

Hmm alright sounds fair enough. :)

Also I think it would be great that all classes can defend.

DavidtheIdeaMan
