Princess Crown (Saturn) English Translation

Has there been any sort of update? I'm still very excited for this. Hope everyone involved is doing well!

Someone patched a beta translation into the .iso, it can be found out there.

Besides that - and I don't mean to shit on anyone here - in the time this game has been announced as translated a person could have learned enough Japanese to play it!

The so-called 'beta' floating around hasn't got anything actually translated in it, probably some mistake or fake leaked work material.

Anyway, yeah, this project is probably on successive hiatus-after-hiatus because they don't have nearly enough free time, 10 years is so long anything can happen to only two ppl. If they were like at the very least a 5 ppl team I guess it would have been a different story, I dunno if they've tried to recruit help on the way, maybe so but nobody answered ? sad if so. 

I might try the live translation trick, maybe a ChatGPT-like A.I will be able to do that well-enough soon a la Star Trek ?

This. I know ths game has a fanbase and many people are anxious for this translation to be completed and released, but bumping this thread over and over, even if it is with encouraging messages, will only result on it being locked by the admins.

If I see that a project I'm looking forward to doesn't update in a reasonable amount of time, I just label it as vaporware, forget about it, and move on. That's the only advice I can give. I know it's a shitty advice, but waiting for fantranslations isn't a hobby suited for people who can't handle frustration, get their hopes up too easily, or are too impatient. If that's the case, let me quote that South Park meme: "you're gonna have a bad time". Just look for a workaround, like learning Japanese if, unlike me, you're intelligent enough to succeed, or give automatic machine translation a try, etc.

I'm reading some of these posts and feel like you guys need to have more faith! As someone who works in game development full time, I know it's easy for time to get the best of you. And even then, these are hobbyists busy with full time jobs.

I genuinely believe they're doing their best, and we're not entitled to updates. I know when it eventually comes out, the quality will be immaculate!

Exactly, this! We got an update late last year, I have faith. They're working on it, it'll be done when it's done.

I'm sure a lot of people here are willing to volunteer their time to help with the project and get it completed, myself included. I don't know anything about romhacking, or even Japanese for that matter, but in whatever way I can help, I want to. I think if anyone here can help, and is willing, they should make that clear to the developers who are generously doing this for us for free.

Also to the developers of this fan translation, don't be afraid to reach out and let it be known if you do need some help. I understand that in the past that they have said that this project is a low priority, and obviously finding time to do it is not a privilege they can enjoy as much as they'd like.

But it's an important project to a lot of us, Princess Crown is one of those games where you really do need to understand all the text in order to fully enjoy the game. I've played the game before without any translation, and I get to a point where I'm just stuck and I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do next because of the language barrier. Princess Crown really is a diamond in the rough, it's just an amazing Saturn game, and it deserves a fan translation so it can be enjoyed by a whole new audience for the first time.

I've noticed that any time a brand new fan translation goes live, the community kinda goes nuts. It's like a whole new game was released, so I imagine it'll be quite spectacular when this project is hopefully finally finished.

Well, here we are, March 2023.

You know, you think back to the original post, doesn't seem that long ago.

But lately, Cyber Warrior has really had his difficulties and can't seem to find his stroke whatsoever. He lacks decisiveness.
