Hello everyone I have been wanting to redo the font in Crash Bandicoot (PSX) for a long time, and when I started to deal with this issue, I had a difficulty: There is an additional font that can be found in S0000019.NSF using tile editor:
But there is also a basic font that is compressed and looks like this:
How do I decompress this font? Can someone help me with this question?

Are you sure it is compressed and not some random format? I would not normally expect to see compressed files like that have clearly legible things that far down the line. Granted it does appear to be surrounded by random noise which could mean compression.

Anyway on compression if it is that (can you find it in a tile/texture/graphics viewer in system?) then same response as the the one I gave in a thread the other day for the PS2 (that is to say there is no BIOS/SDK thing used near universally like we see on some other things, to that end you are going to have to figure it out yourself). Not so many people go in for hacking Crash Bandicoot by itself as other platformers or some of its sequels, or indeed Crash kart racers (though most of those are to import into Mario Kart), but there are a few out there.

Do also be sure it is something the game uses in something you care to edit -- little point spending 15 hours figuring out a compression format only to find it is only used on the hidden debug screen.
