I know I'm giving the mods more work to do by forcing them to verify + merge my double-posting, but:

They were originally pharmacies in the Japanese version. In fact, they are pharmacies in SMS Power!'s official fan translation. There was no reference or mention of First Food or any other restaurant in the Japanese version. They were pharmacies. "First Food" was an invention of the localization team.
Well, I knew that, but just felt kinda weird about how "First Food" was considered a mistranslation by Clyde Mandelin "Tomato" himself, who's basically a Japanese-to-English master.
Also, just realized that I could edit posts that are being verified. Sorry mods.

Is it possible to port the Breath of Fire text cleanup to the SNES version?

Looking forward to seeing what future projects you'll be working on either way

Hi. I totally support cleaning up the text for SNES Breath of Fire. Like you, I'd only really want it if it also included a dash feature. I was able to find this thread that may help with that: https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=29005.0
I have zero knowledge of rom hacking but would love to see this happen one day! Thank you for your awesome hacks over the years!
Let's just say you two are in luck now. :) https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=34331.0

Small new project released. Dragon Warrior IV: Controllable Chapter 5 Allies. Writes the GameGenie code to the ROM which shuts off AI control in Chapter 5.

Edit - Original code by Paulygon. Also, this doesn't meet RHDN Policy, so it won't be submitted.

That's yet another project I hoped to see one day! The hits just keep coming, keep it up!

I'm currently working on delisting the mods I do not support anymore. Everything under "Completed Without Support" will no longer be available to download on RHDN, but I might put them up as one big batch file on Google Drive, Mega, or Mediafire at some point. You could say it's part of sunsetting my ROM hacking career.

I'm also working on updating my documentation to reflect the online handle I've been using a few years now. However, I won't be changing the credits of Phantasy Star: Deluxe Edition or Sailor Moon: Another Story unless there is a compelling reason to release an update.

Why? Is this also why you've changed your nick?

FlamePurge

No, I've changed my name to a username I've used for a few years now off of RHDN. I've never liked "vivify93." If you check the first page, you'll see my projects are in 3 different categories. The mods under "completed without support" will be delisted from RHDN. Everything else will remain here. :)

If you just want to get them all out of the way right now, I can hang online for a little while..

FlamePurge

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. That'd be nice if you had the time, yeah.

Two left as of this writing to delist. I do need to also update my supported projects to use the recent username, but I'll just do those piecemeal instead of overwhelming ya. Thanks.

Edit - Alrighty, all relevant projects delisted, and I added a big archive of them in case someone needs them, for whatever reason.

I'm sorry to hear that! You've provided a ton of great hacks and improvements to games that sorely needed them, and done a lot to help ease some of my OCD tendencies with older series that were inconsistent. I do hope it's more of a "soft" retirement, and that we might see new projects from you from time to time, however infrequent, but either way I thank you for all you've done. Your hacks and fixes have become permanent fixtures in my personal curated ROM collection, so I'll try and keep the flame burning and dive back into them from time to time. ;)

Ok Impala!

Thank you for all your contributions. I especially appreciate that you gave attention to lesser hacked games like Lufia and Breath of Fire. Fixing those games made them shine once more! Thanks and all the best!  :)

I appreciate the kind words, everyone. I'm still updating my available projects' documentation with my new handle (It's still funny to say that, since I've been using it on Twitch for years). I wanted to explain a little what's going on. I know it seems like I'm throwing a hissy fit due to the reception to War of the Goddess--and yeah, that did play a role in me wanting to hang up my hat--but that's not entirely the case.

Retiring from ROM hacking doesn't mean I suddenly vanish from RHDN or even drop support for existing mods. I just think I've made pretty much every project I've ever wanted. And if I haven't, someone else has done it already, thankfully. There just aren't many ideas left that I'd like to explore. I'll probably make the occasional texture mod or script mod for a PC game, though. But I will be taking an extended break in the coming months; I'm finally moving cross-country as I've wanted for years, and I won't have access to my PC until I can get my stuff shipped over.

I also wanted to address the three projects I said I have in the pipeline.

1. (PC) Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition - Modern Yet Nostalgic
This is on hold. A beta version is out now, though. This is an update of Chrono Cross that will revert all non-typo or grammatical changes made to the dialogue, and go further to update the Chrono Trigger references to use the modern (DS, PC, smart device) translation by Tom Slattery. I'm currently waiting for M1k3ol to finish his demaster of the script--a meticulous and intensive process. The full release of this is unlikely to happen before I move.

2. (PC) Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness Restoration Project
This isn't my project at all, really, but I am on the team. So, I'm not sure if there are people who play my hacks and are also fans of action-platformers, but Tomb Raider VI: AoD released in a pretty sorry state. It was rushed, buggy, and unfinished, so my friend Reborninshadows got the idea to try and finish it some 17-odd years later. We of course have limited tools, but we've made astounding progress; the game engine is a lot more polished now with vastly improved gameplay. My role is to suggest ideas, assist in workflow, quality assure, deal with almost anything relating to text, and testing. This is unlikely to be finished for a few years since it's a massive undertaking.

3. (SNES) Project MDust
This is the closest I've ever come to announcing a project on RHDN before it's ready, LOL. However, all I will say is it relates to audio, and that the outlook on this being released soon is promising. It's sort of a joint effort, and thus is not strictly "my" project.

Lastly, I think I may link the PC mods I've made and have hosted on Nexus, just so I have a centralized place for everything I've made.

I hope this has helped.

I understand that. After Final Fantasy Tactics: Emergence and Final Fantasy VI: Divergent Paths, I realized that I needed to majorly scale down my romhacking efforts. I'm still (very) active and here, but I don't take on projects that are going to take me longer than a month.

Thanks for the years you've dedicated to improving games. And yes, drop some links to your Nexus Mods. I'd love to see them.

Thanks, PowerPanda. I appreciate it, and I'm grateful for what you've done as well. :) I'm afraid my PC mods aren't very exciting--pretty much the same fare as I do here. I've just been able to dabble a bit more in graphics editing.

From Wisconsin, USA to Oregon, USA. I've been looking forward to it for years.

Rodimus Primal

I totally understand the feeling with projects and what not and why you changed your nickname. I hope your move goes well and know you're always welcome here on RHDN. Its been a pleasure working with you on projects too. Speaking of which, do you want me to change my Read-Me files to reflect your new nickname?

FlamePurge

Thanks, Rodimus. :) You only have to change them if you're feeling up for it. It's not strictly necessary but it would be nice. I won't be changing my name in the in-game translation credits for Sailor Moon RPG or Phantasy Star Mobile, so I'm not pedantically adamant about it.

Speaking of that, I've just about finished editing my readmes with my new handle. Woo-hoo!

Given the number of classic 16-bit JRPGs you've done the definitive fixup patch for, I'm pretty sure I will be enjoying your work for years to come. Thanks for all of it!
