At last, the Extraordinarily Profound romhack of Rockman 7, a Super Nintendo game, was modified into Rockman 7 EP, can now be played in English language!

Rockman 7 EP is a very sophisticated romhack that not only modified stages, but also added tons of changes to Enemy Placements and robot master behavior, special weapons, and story. What's more surprising to this is that the author, Puresabe, provided an Extra Patch for changing the game's language into English, the Enable Language Switching patch. However, the Enigmatic Patch does not translate the game as it was left unchanged, or rather it was Encouragingly Prepared for someone to one day have the guts to translate the game into English. And this is where the translation task was Exceptionally Performed by Zynk Oxhyde!
After months of hacking, he actually did it and released the patch for Every Person who wishes to play/replay the game in English.

Note: This Earnest Project only hacks the texts as it is intended for the Enable Language Switching patch.

Patching instructions:
-1. Apply first Rockman7EP102.ips patch over an unmoddified Rockman 7 ROM.
-2. Next, apply Rockman7EP102-English.ips over prepatched Rockman 7 EP ROM.
-3. To play the game in English, at the titlescreen press SELECT.

A very special thanks to the Excellent Programmer, Puresabe for providing support!

This is such Excellent Progress!  I'm very Excited, Personally!  I've wanted to play this Extremely Professional ROM hack for a while.  It's nice to see it finally translated into English, Perfectly!

Thank you so much, Zynk, you Eccentric Programmer, you~!
... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Edit: I guess I Expressed Praise a little earlier than I should've.  Evidently, Problems have been found.  'v'

Hello. I'm a bit confused. Either the game is not fully translated, or I didn't apply the patch correctly.
I did press Select on the title screen, and then I got the English intro, "Language Eng." is written on the title screen, and I started a game and picked a stage. But when I press Start during the stage, I see Japanese text.

Played through this a few nights ago and it's pretty good for the most part. I was surprised about this hack laying it on thick with the humor, much moreso than Minus Infinity, even.

That being said, here's the obligatory list of typos and whatnot that I came across:

  • The good doctor is always referred to as Dr. Light, even though Japanese character names are used, so it should be Dr. Right, with an "R".
  • Ripple Noise's weapon description (1/2): "This weapon increase its damage when it gets bigger as it goes farther!" - Should be "increases".
  • Blues/Proto Man's dialogue before the fight in Slash Man's stage: "Long time no see, Rockman! I never have thought you'd find..." - Should be "I'd never".
  • After aforementioned fight: "You want to borrow my shield, aren't you?" - Should be "don't you?".
  • Wily talking in the cutscene after beating the 8 stages: "What a bunch of useless baffoons!" - Should be "buffoons".
  • In the cutscene after beating the Wily Capsule: "He undergo rigorous training, attaining sufficient strength!" -  Should be "underwent".
  • In the same cutscene: "Come with me nicely, okay? Gramps." - Should be "okay, Gramps?".
  • Also in the same cutscene: "Dr. Wily's Department Store No.7 is having closing sale..." - Should be "having a closing sale".
  • Blues/Proto Man at the end of Wily 5: "These are my parting gifts for you. Take it!" - Should be "Take them!", since he's giving you multiple things.
  • Forte/Bass before the fight in Wily 5: "However, there are something more absolute." - Should be "is".
  • Forte/Bass after the end of the fight (Expert Player ending): "Hey! Didi you hear what I just said?" - Should be "Did".
  • The "wins" and "losses" counter for each Robot Master at the end of the RM7 original staff credits is untranslated.
  • At the beginning of the Rockman 7 EP credits: "Special Thanks: All people advised me" - Probably would work better as "All who advised me".

That's another thing: the weapon/utility names on the menu screen also aren't translated.

The graphics texts (i.e. Weapons menu) aren't translated as the project targets the function of the Enable Language Switching patch.

Thank you for spotting that!  :)

EDIT:
QuoteThe "wins" and "losses" counter for each Robot Master at the end of the RM7 original staff credits is untranslated.
I asked about it, but was advised not to edit this as it is shared with the Japanese Language side and might get broken in the process.

Found more "wrong character speaking dialogue" errors, this time with the King Slash cutscene:
