PCE Palettes - How do I convert a PCX to something else?
« on: September 03, 2021, 08:25:37 pm »
I am working on porting several early and modern example PCE homebrew to SNES, But I want to prevent using PCX and use tilesets instead, The problem is getting the palettes from the PCX is made from CHR, the PCX cannot be converted to PNG that easily on my computer, Is there a good opensource PCX2PNG converter out there?

I am currently converting code from PCEAS code to CA65 code. This may change!!!

I am also still looking for a simple PCE debug emulator (like Mednafen), but with a palette viewer capable of displaying RGB values!!!
I Hath Returned...

BTW My username is not Hamtaro129. THAT IS WRONG, Please correct immediately or I will try to correct it myself!

If they are PCX as in the very old Windows Paint format, wouldn't using old image editing programs to convert it work?

On Windows, IrfanView supports the PCX image format KingMike is referring to, though you have to download a plugin (included in iv_formats.zip on this page) for PCX. Just open the PCX and save as a PNG.
