Changing Title Screen Pokemon Gold

Hi, I would like to replace the English Pokemon logo with the Japanese one on the title screen. I am relatively new to rom hacking. Is anyone able to help me or explain how it is done, I am not sure which programs to use. I have tried a number of different programs and have had no luck.

Why don't you start by saying exactly what you've tried so far and what exactly happened?  That way no one has to waste time suggesting things that you've already tried. Or maybe you're using something incorrectly, and someone can suggest what you should do differently.
