Weird Final Fantasy 6 Advance glitch

I got the European ROM version of FF6A I'm playing, with some added patches, and somewhat into the game, I'm stuck. At the part where you defend the Esper from Kefka, after the moogle dialogue when he explains how to defend with three teams, it just stays there, the moogle with the black screen and the wind in the background being heard.

I'm at a loss at what to do. I'd rather not start all over again, and I don't even know which patch may have caused this.
