Well, I consider that they are games that are a bit simple or simple to color

indeed that person is working on MMW3
let's let that person work on that one and let ReyK19FC concentrate on working on another MMW game that currently isn't being worked on

Look, Tobiasvl, what I was referring to, if it is, show me your dx project that is developed, because I would like to know if you are starting it in rgbds.

tobiasvl

Aha. Yes, I have a project which is a lot simpler and less complex than something like Mega Man (although it contains more than just colorization). I just committed my work to this branch so you can look at it if you want, but it's a work in progress and just the state of my working directory right this morning, so the code isn't in its cleanest state: https://github.com/tobiasvl/flipull-disassembly/tree/dx

ReyK19FC

Regarding my Rockman World 4 project, in fact I have some sprites that are honestly not mine but maybe they are useful, but I still have the rgbds mgbdis but I don't know how they work or how to install them.

ReyK19FC

I'm impressed by your project Tobias, maybe in the future you could publish a tutorial.

Specialagentape

I would not recommend a Mega Man World game as a first colorization. They are more complex to colorize than you would likely expect and I would really recommend starting with a simpler game. Study GB assembly here:

https://gbdev.io/pandocs/

Making a colorization requires a near full understanding of how the GB handles graphics and scanlines and every project is different even within the same series.

My hacks are done using BGB, they don't use a disassembly, but a disassembly is a perfectly valid way of making them also; that said, learning assembly is absolutely required to make a colorization if you want it to be high quality. I do not recommend GB Colorizer in its current state as it is designed for outdated emulators that do not properly emulate VRAM locking.

ReyK19FC

So you use the bgb emulator to create your dx hacks, would you teach me specialagentape how to create them? I'm looking for tutorials in my country, I won't be able to find other colorization information, I've also been seeing all the dx hacks for a long time but I never saw how they are done , if you know specialagentape.

I know you're not going to do a dx hack again, but I can support you with mega man world 2 dx I have images that could help you, please

If you don't believe me, check a previous publication I gave it to you.

this link is from me

Specialagentape

Erm, I am nearly done with World 2. I don't have plans to do 3 or 4 though.

The link I gave earlier has information on Game Boy Z80 assembly. If you want to learn to make a colorization you need to learn how the GBC works.

ReyK19FC

good friend so if you need information about the page let me know on the forum, send me a message, to learn I will continue trying to use bgb emulator, and I will create a dx hack.

Brutapode89

Hi guys. Is it with this utility we can colorize Game Boy black & white games?

Specialagentape

#273
No.

That utility will only be of any use for finding and editing existing palettes in already-colored GBC games. There is no tool for colorizing GB games aside from disassembly tools like RGBDS and debuggers like those included with BGB/Emulicious. These are assembly hacks from start to finish, there is no catch-all way to colorize these games, they require individually-coded solutions in order to run on hardware and any easy-solution tool (GBColorizer, etc) will have a myriad of problems.

Look at specialagentetape, I know you said you would take a break from mega man, and I know you only have mega man world 2 as your last project, but you'll see if I liked your first mega man world 1 project, it was like a dream come true Actually, as I saw that they criticized you very hard for not respecting the color palette, in fact I was never angry on the contrary, I liked that Mega Man World 1, you are a pro, I apologize, I did not know that doing a gbc-style hack was very complicated and time consuming but if you don't want to talk about mega man world 2 i get it but please can you post a little preview of world 2?:-[ .

ReyK19FC

It's more that's why I sent you the link, because when I saw the image I thought it would be perfect for mega man world 2, I sent a small contribution.

You should ease up on all these suggestions and requests. Just leave him alone to work on his project(s) and let him make the announcements when he wants to. Projects are less stressful and more fulfilling that way.
Mega Man 7 > 3 > 2 > 9 > Wily Wars > 10 > V(GB) > 5 > 6 > 4 > Powered Up > 1 > The Power Fighters > The Power Battle > IV(GB) > III(GB) > II(GB) > Dr. Wily's Revenge(GB) > 8 > Mega Man and Bass > Mega Man (Game Gear) > Mega Man and Bass - Challengers from the Future

ReyK19FC

Well, I'll stop being toxic, I was just a fan of specialagetape.

ReyK19FC

Outside of joking, let's see, show a tutorial or proof that it is true, do not invent 2099 for that year it will be the end of the world.
