For posting links to Game Music that you're currently listening to.

Fighting Through The Darkness - Lunar: The Silver Star (Sega CD)

This was 10x as badass as it had any right being in 1993. People have many opinions about Victor Ireland's USA changes to games but this one is a solid touchdown and extra point. I might not have remembered this game the same way if not for this great version of the intro song.

Does this thread include covers or just original VG OST's?

I'm certain we had one of these threads already. But it must have gotten shuffled off into Never-Never Land.

I distinctly recall stating that Set The World Aflame is far better than Mighty Switch Force 2 could ever really deserve.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaLpzyw4q3w

Tragically, it seems to have been co-opted by a rather profoundly silly meme, to put it mildly, so there's no chance it will show up at the local karaoke bar.

I'unno, I didn't think terribly hard about this thread

One of the many things that made Deus Ex (2000) a memorable experience was the soundtrack. Whenever an ost reaches legendary status, you can sure bet dedicated fans will eventually give their own take on these tunes.

Among the many quality remixes dedicated to Deus Ex that I've gathered over the years, one composed by Maraiba stands among my "Top 20 Videogame Remixes of all time". What this guy can do with a Xaphoon is truly phenomenal. Not only his rendition of "Deus Ex NYC Streets" is quite Jazzy (which makes it stand out from other Deus Ex covers even more), but also I like listening to this track because it's such a soothing experience:

Here's the original NYC Streets track from Deus Ex, so you can measure the incredible work which went into this cover:

Amazed it hasn't been taken down but the NEO: The World Ends With You demo has some good music.

Here's my favorite song from the demo.

It's nice, but it's kind of indistinguishable from most of the soundtrack of the original. (Which was a pretty darn spiffy soundtrack, to be sure.)

I am on a Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon OST kick. Thiana/Poochy theme is the perfect mix of chill and groovy.

EDIT: may as well throw a YT link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHGUsEHd6Vg

SleepyFist

The Sexy Brutale is one of my favorite games of all time, hugely underrated and has a great soundtrack that kicks all kinds of ass. I've been replaying the game lately and listening to the music on Youtube while I work.

Journey to Silius (NES). It never ceases to amaze me, it feels like the NES has no business sounding this good without extra sound chips. But this is what it can do in expert hands.

I am really curious as to why more people are not talking about Lords of Thunder. That's it, that's the post.

Had a lot going on lately, sorry

RPGs tend to have good music for some reason. Right now, the Golden Sun battle theme is playing in my head

Sliver X

I was testing out RTX performance on a GeForce 2070 Super I own and ended up getting Ghostrunner: I've been listening to the soundtrack more than I've been playing the game, though the game itself is actually really good too.

When I bought Goemon 2 in 1993, I would bop my head to the Town Theme. :D :cookie:

I dunnno what possessed me but this morning I have the BattleToads+Double Dragon Stage 1 Theme running through my head : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hqZ6Gb-J-s

Sounds a bit like Living Loving Maid, which, of course, I'm down to clown. It's got this weird chill vibe to it that is also good for smashing some baddies. :) Always liked this one.

Oh, I really love this tune and listen to it regularly - and both the NES and SNES versions are amazing even though very different from eachother.
