Quote from: KingMike on December 14, 2017, 12:42:01 PMI believe the PS1 and later versions of FF5 changed it so you always have a run button and the previous run ability was changed to a double-run.Except for thankfully the Karnak escape sequence where it changes to auto-run (which while usually a positive thing, does make turning a bit more sensitive, especially when you have a somewhat strict time limit going on).
Quote from: Mauron on December 14, 2017, 01:40:01 AMChange the following from F0 to D0: 0x00892A, 0x008949, 0x008968, 0x008987, 0x008A41, 0x008A0C, 0x0089A6
Quote from: andrewclunn on December 15, 2017, 12:18:40 AMNice, but you missed down and left (Figured out that this reverses the check for each of the eight possible direction entries. So the four cardinal directions are 2A, 49, 68, and 87 (adding 1F in hex to get form one to the next). Then 87 + 1F is A6. There we go. So adding 1F to that is C5... don't see that anywhere in those numbers. Then 1F to that is E4... Then 1F to that F3... Okay so the pattern clearly breaks down there. So where's the last F0 to D0 change I need to make?Ah there's an F0 0C pattern with the four cardinal directions (well now D0 0C pattern). Maybe there's another pattern with the other controls. Well D0 15 A9 is now the case for 0x0089A6 and 0x008A41. Let me look closer at 0x008A0C: D0 17 A9, but it was F0 17 A9. There's another F0 17 A9 set at 0x0089D7! I bet that's the missing one that I also need to change from F0 to D0. Alright, time to test it.And BAM it works! (Thanks by the way)
Quote from: Chicken Knife on December 16, 2017, 12:25:03 PMI'd love to see quality work done to the Dragon Warrior NES series, removing the censorship, replacing the "olde English" translation with something more true to the series, and restoring the title screens to the classic Japanese dragon quest logos--all while keeping the cool improvements to the US releases like the intro segment of Dragon Warrior IV as example. I know these things have all been done for the remakes but I'm particularly fond of the old school visuals and gameplay balance.
Quote from: KingMike on December 16, 2017, 01:02:47 AMThe title of that Nintendo game is a can of worms that I think was already discussed during the translation or enhancement patch development.Of course, nobody can really stop anyone else from calling it what they want.
Quote from: coinilius on December 16, 2017, 05:12:03 AMShade Aurion: Castlevania - The Adventure and Belmont's Revenge were both colourised as part of the Konami GB Collection Series in Europe. There are autoboot hacks for them in the database, so that they can be loaded up automatically instead of going through the menus for the collections that they are on. Of course, that doesn't mean that someone couldn't do a different and/or better job of colourising them (and Castlevania Legends would be nice to see as well).
