THIS. I want Goemon and Metal Slug for the NES. They can do that like the Air Contra hack but using the sprite sheets from the Neo Geo Pocket Color, although edited to resemble the Main Characters of Metal Slug.

Me too! I also want the Digimon Wonderswan games (or Digimon Adventure Ryo since they all feature Ryo) to be translated properly.

Long time ago there was an editing software made for King's Field I-III called Sword of Moonlight, and later there was King's Field IV - The Ancient City. I see a lot of potential for a mod editing software made for the fourth game, the game still holds up due it's interesting atmosphere & monsters.

Also the graphical sets used (dungeons, fields, etc) are basic enough where I think it can be used for modding purposes if someone wanted to make a new dungeon or expand one. Also as a benefit if someone were to do this that they'll do the community a favor, and fix the emulation issues with the game (Black Pits of Doom) & any other errors.

Another thing...I'm curious to see if that game had unused content, it would be great to have it documented in TCRF.

Well, I have an idea for the PSX game Tomba 2. Recently I have found out that the original japanese version of this game has completely different soundtrack compared with US/EU versions. So I would like to enjoy playing this great game again with some new expeirence in the form of a new soundtrack. The only problem is japanese language. So the essence of the idea is to transfer english translation from US version to japanese one OR to transfer all the sounddata from JP version to US one (but the first variant is more interesting because the original version may contain other undiscovered differences).

Just something small... :)

A Metroid/Samus player sprite swap for Todd's Adventures in Slime World:

This must be the closest thing to a metrovania style game on the Genesis?

You know what would be really good: Maui Mallard: MSU-1 mode. I really love the soundtrack from the PC game and really wanted to hear this again at least on Genesis or SNES.

You telling me it could possibly be even better than the snes ost? I'm gonna check it out.
edit: mind blown. It reminds me of david wise's work on dkc tropical freeze.

I love Breath of Fire on the Snes, it has a special place in my heart and I love the story and far superior translation to the second game (barring the re-translation). But the only thing that absolutely kills it, is the lack of a faster walking speed. The GBA port has the dash feature, sure, but the GBA port has very weak audio and without the color hack, washed out colors. I tried looking for the offsets that control Ryu's walking speed, but to no avail. Where would I even look to change walk to dash? Is it even feasible for this to be achieved? Any help is appreciated. I don't know ASM or even C at all.  :(

It's one of Michael Giacchino's earliest scores, before he went on to win an Academy Award.  An MSU-1 hack would be a fine idea indeed, especially since the PC version isn't at all cooperative with modern operating systems.

I like this idea. Shame this game didn't receive a Sega CD release.

Yeah, I don't see a dash/fast-walk hack happening in Breath of Fire ever.

I would like to see hacks for all the ports of Resident Evil 1 & 2 that will add the 180-turn option to them.

I also would like to see a hack for Super Ghouls'n Ghosts that will give Arthur the ability to shoot up and down like he can in Ghouls'n Ghosts as well.

I've been playing Dark Cloud again lately and got to thinking,
a NES/SNES demake would be pretty awesome, if we can strip out all 3D jank that drags the PS2 game down,
and smooth out the menus etc it would be fantastic as a top down hack and slash like Zelda.

Some Ideas:
Make the Synthesis system closer to the improved Dark Cloud 2 version.
allow crumbling of bread into 16 crumbs to mark dungeon floors.
balance characters
make abs gain more tolerable
more varied dungeon floors
DC2 monster names.

In a nutshell, it is a lot like a 3D roguelike verson of SoulBlazer with a dash of Terranigma.
