Hi,

In Yatterman "standard version", when we meet opponent , the vs game is a poor vs game :(

https://youtu.be/mNmN_kqcUrM?t=129

In Yatterman "BS version" , when we meet opponent , the vs game is a concept of "chu chu rocket"

https://youtu.be/V-LpNw68pLI?t=427

The BS version is only 1pl :(

Actually is not in my projects to hack it for 2pl ...
If someone search a idea of project  :)

Anyone is interrested to extract one game over this rom?

https://segaretro.org/Mega_Games_10

Sega Soccer never was released to public only on Mega Games, so it deserves one rom it just 256kb file.
It will be great if someone release it.  8)

A hack for one of the Mega Man games where you can reverse gravity at will like in Metal Storm, and the level design and AI require doing it strategically in each level.

I think it would be cool if someone could fix the slow down issues with Marvel Super Heroes on the Sega Saturn. I know that these issues aren't as prevalent if you don't use the optional ram expansion. It utilizes the 1 Meg expansion for more frames of animation. It will work with the 4 Meg expansion, but I don't believe it utilizes any more memory than it does with the 1 meg expansion.

My guess is that the extra frames are too much for the 1 Meg expansion, so some cpu intensive compression is used to load the frames into the 1 mega expansion causing slow down on decompression. If this were the case, maybe someone could hack the game by uncompressing the graphics and loading them in utilizing the 4 meg expansion instead.

I have no idea if the game actually works this way, or if this is the actual cause of the slow downs. It's just a hypothesis.

Most of what I know about Saturn memory was in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcDAHVvDLuA (short version used by some games, multiple types that are not always mutually/cross compatible with lesser versions. Still about as essential as N64 expansion packs for the would be Saturn fan with a modded system and emulator support generally there as well -- not like people squeeze Saturn emulators onto lesser devices that would just fall over if needing to do the extra RAM as they do SNES, GB/GBC and such like). To that end you are going into a rather limited market here.

Anyway compression is unlikely to be a thing here that troubles things -- Saturn was still a CD and space is unlikely to be an issue. Any compression then being more to dodge throughput issues -- this is still CD read speeds and lower end ones at that (1x=150 kilobytes a second max theoretical for sequential data, PS1 was 2x I believe and don't know the Saturn offhand but would not expect much more) so 4 megs of uncompressed texture that squishes to not that has a real return on investment.
There could be a bug or an alternative path to decompression, possibly a more optimised one (we have seen some discussions of things here on the DS and GBA for instance when comparing BIOS provided to code) but that is getting into the weeds ahead of time.
On the other hand it could be decompressed at runtime on an as needed basis/every frame. Outside of video playback I don't think I have ever seen it before (most things might take their time decompressing or even generating before landing it in VRAM or similar and go from there) but if it was going to be anything then I would probably place the bet on the Saturn.

For the time that optimisation of such a thing would take* I think I would almost see about making a run of third party packs (casual search at time of writing says £80 for the 4 meg in Action replay form and £50 for 1 meg official) if someone has not already gone there. Some modern FPGA stuff might even have enough memory onboard ( https://projectf.io/posts/fpga-memory-types/ ) and be low enough power that you could do it casually there with a breakout board and the example circuit, certainly could interface between modern memory off the shelf and Saturn protocols for it. That and make hacks to correct for anything that uses/needs a 1 meg not working on a 4.

*indeed I would be more likely to lean into the 4 meg usage to see if I could gain a perk or two from that (for the N64 I know but broadly similar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYPH-NH3B6k )

A hack of NCAA Basketball and NCAA Final Four (SNES) that changes the names of the players to the current roster of the teams as well as March Madness teams (including the current roster of Kansas Jayhawks and UNC Tarheels, the two teams in the final) but keep Duke's Davidson in NCAA Basketball, and also roster update for Coach K College Basketball (Genesis) as well, since Coach K just retired recently.
I believe the morning sun, always gonna shine again.

I think the bosses in Blaster Master need some serious rebalancing. They're fine up until area 5 but from then on the difficulty spike seems unaccaptable for a game with no continues and no means to earn more lives or continues ( on that note, infinite continues restored from the Japanese version to accompany such a balance hack would be nice. )
Not sure what I'd suggest but maybe bigger hitboxes or a few more frames of vulnerability since even with turbo mode on i'm mostly hearing my shots clink against them when i'm shooting them point blank in their weak spot.  I have seen all but the final boss, but bosses 5-6 demand way too much.

This should be a seperate patch from the Balance patch, but I also think it would be cool to de-localize Blaster Master back into Meta Fight... which might seem pointless since the game has no text that i'm aware of outside the title screen, but Meta Fight had no opening cutscene, while Blaster Master did.  Could be cool to re-draw the intro to better reflect the look of the Japanese box art and set up a different scenario than the one about the escaped pet frog.
Somebody alert me when a user friendly BS Zelda hacking tool is made. I will give my soul to work on a faithful SNES remake of Zelda 1.

Yes, but is not the same game.
If you check the intro of the game is different and is more fast.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I44zwXlqUgw

Sega Later decided to release this game, but it changed the intro of the game to hide the original.
So it's a nother new version.
It will be great if this clone get's off and be part of the collection.

Is anyone still working on a Shining Force randomiser? I saw one existed but all it does is shuffle the order in which you gain playable characters. That's a cool feature and everything but how about giving us an enemy randomiser too?

Ok. Please if you can extract the 256kb rom over the classics collection. It's a game never as been released as a rom.
Funny fact i found the instrucion manual for sale: https://www.ebay.com/itm/283888540350  :o
I never ever see the cartridge anywhere.

If it is as simple as clipping the ROM, any hex editor with cut functions will work.
Highlight the previous data, Cut. Save as new ROM.

However, it's not like we could share the resulting file here, as it would still be the same as if sharing a ROM.

Is anyone interested in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (Super Game Boy) into MSU-1, please? I already made a PCM pack for that.

Hi guys, just want first to thank you all with all the amazing content in this site.

I'd like to do something, but I don't have the skills, so I guess this is the good place :).

I would like to work on a romhack for some PS1 game, which would be on this site if I ever manage to do it. I don't have the knowledge to make it, but the idea is quite simple.

I would like to implement into a game a way to trigger/remove some HEX edit/GS code. The idea is simple, I want to add to the game the feature that if a player inputs a prescribed input (button unused by the game, for instance), then he toggles/untoggles some prefixed HEX edit.

I have some knowledge about RAM watch, hex edit etc, but I don't know how it is technically possible to make this work. Is it technically possible? How would you and which tools would you use to make this real?

Excuse me, are you asking A MOD to send you a ROM?
That's not how we do things here.

I could rip it but I don't want to. Especially for 1) not for something anyone could learn to do in a few minutes. 2) Would, again, be again in violation of ROM links (a patch that is pretty much a workaround).
(again, on the assumption that this game can even be ripped and booted standalone, without any other funny business.)

 ;D

I make it when I have the time , but not 256KB , I make for 1MB ROM

The emulators with debugger for genesis are shitty... what's that lol ... go MESS but , I'm too lazy to open mess today

Fast Method for legal patch 1MB ROM :

Game is on first 1MB of 4MB ROM :
-Cut the last 3MB
-Make little routine : in first frame of choice's screen : auto select Sega Soccer and make simulation of input start, perhaps make in black color the choice's screen if it can be seen few frames

PS: For 256KB, you can not just cut game on 0c0000/0fffff and put it to 000000/03ffff ,

I didn´t say i want it in to 256kb, i thought was that size, if you calculate those 4mb of Mega Games 10.

Not a mod, extracting the rom from the Mega Games 10.
But is the only official game never being commercial i think, but i don´t know, maybe exists after i saw the manual for sale.
I hope they can pick the rom and sell it as a normal cart for collectors.  :P

Does anyone fancy seeing if they can either unlock (or even better, extract as a standalone game as with Pac-Man and Ms Pac-Man here) the excellent Time Pilot 95 bonus game from Ganbare Goemon 4 on SNES?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkTz16LQjHY

Normally you have to 100% complete the entire game (no small feat, as it's many hours long and full of secrets and sidequests and whatnot) although there definitely is an unlock cheat - I unlocked it by accident once while just flailing around hitting random controls on the menu screen. But I've spent months trying to recreate that accident, and searching everywhere I could find for the code, to no avail. Would be super-grateful.
