A romhack of all Saga-series games to remove the "glass cannon" mechanics and prevent character growth from being dependent on, only on, and entirely on RNG. So the time you invest into the game makes the game easier, because the player characters will actually grow stronger. Also, removing all mechanics that punish the player for fighting battles, such as in "Romancing Saga 1" where fighting more battles makes the game too difficult to complete.

Also no people derailing with their objections. If you don't want a better-designed game that's open to a variety of play styles, don't use these hypothetical patches.

Also, English translations of RS2 and 3 for the SNES since it's way too soon to be hacking the Switch. C'mon guys. It's the system that's out right now.

Basically, let's do the video game companies' jobs for them, as we've always done.

On another topic, I still wish colorizing GB games was easier to do.

On yet another topic, replace the tramps in the Cruisin' series with dudes.

On even still another topic, reverse the red-blue 3D effect in Rad Racer 1 for NES so that it'll work better with standard red-blue glasses. Standard glasses have a red lens on the left, and a blue lens on the right, and aren't typically reversible. Maybe swapping all red and all blue in the game would suffice.

Here's a hack I came up with: Super Mario Bros. Deluxe ~Super Mario Maker Edition~

Basically it adds the improvements to the SMB1 Engine from the Mario Maker series, Adds toad as a third playable, ports the themes from Mario Maker 2, adds a few tracks from the All Stars version of SMB1 (Bonus, Bowser, & Final Bowser), And have two versions of the patch being "Regular" and "Amiibo" where Amiibo changes all of the enemies to be based off the versions that appear when using the 30th anniversary amiibo.

I also want a hack of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga that imports the improvements in the Japanese version of the game but keep the english script and heal point values along with keeping the coin jump values the same ontop of porting the heart block, fixing the glitches in the international versions, and maybe reimplment some of the unused stuff from the Cutting room floor like the Starbeans cameos.

I also want a simple hack of Super Mario Advance 4 that removes the "Game Boy Player" screen

A "Pink Bullets" hack for the SEGA Genesis ver. of Air Buster (aka Aero Blasters). This would help the sometimes unfair difficulty due to projectile visibility.

Murphmario

I want a hack for Mega Man 2 on the Game Boy that fixes the unoptimized tile banks and makes the enemies have their proper NES graphics. I know how to edit graphics in yychr but not how to remap tiles.

Also the hack could maybe some other issues with the game could be fixed too (someone already made a music patch, so asides from that, implement the sound effects from Mega Man III, fix the Robot Master intro animations, make it so that the Mega Buster doesn't pierce enemies, and make it so that Giant Springer's missiles can be destroyed like in Mega Man 3 (NES).)

Very minor concept for SNES Super Mario All-Stars (and the SMW combo cartridge):

The Battle Mode found within Super Mario Bros. 3's title screen is very engaging and compelling to play, but the ? Mushroom item that can be found in certain blocks throws a wrench in all of that under certain conditions. If both players are Super or both players are small, it has the effect of switching the players' location, which is cool and good. However, if one player is Super and the other is small, it also has the effect of switching their sizes, which is dumb and bad. It basically forces the player with a size advantage to purposefully get hit in order to prevent the opponent from gaining a significant advantage that was only possible because they were playing poorly to begin with. I imagine the item does the size switch mechanic regardless, but switching Super with Super or small with small doesn't actually do anything noticeable.

I think the ideal way to fix this would be to make the ? Mushroom only switch player locations regardless of the players' sizes when it's grabbed, disabling the size switch mechanic. It gives both players an incentive to go for the item in a mismatched situation, rather than just the losing player. The positional advantage is fairly strong by itself for either player in that case, and it still gives the disadvantaged player a bit of an edge (they're more likely to need it in order to get to the top against the bigger opponent).

In case it would be helpful, per SMW Central's RAM map for All-Stars:

$7E18BB is 13 bytes long and refers to sprite numbers. $11 is "Red ? Mushroom". Interestingly, $12 is "Green ? Mushroom", which goes unused as far as I'm aware, and I have no idea if it has a different effect from its red counterpart; it doesn't seem to have any documentation elsewhere. If it turns out that the Green ? Mushroom only switches positions, then simply replacing all Red ? Mushrooms with Green ? Mushrooms would work.

$7E19C0 is a 1-byte timer that is active while the ? Mushroom has been grabbed and is doing its effect(s).

Hi, does anyone want to know some ideas about Sonic's new ROM hack for Mega Drive/Genesis?

Metallo

So you know how Ninja Gaiden has a Trilogy remaster on SNES? I sometimes wonder if it'd be cool to get all 3 NES ones together on one Cart, with bugs fixed (there are bug fixes on here), complete with its own cool Menu (Rock music and everything like the SNES version).

Just a thought!

KingMike

There's probably some multicart mapper which could handle it (assuming they're all MMC3, one of the most bootlegged mappers), but it's not really a simple thing to just paste multiple NES games together and expect them to work.

Here's another hack idea, but for River City Ransom.

Fight space aliens that wanna take over the city?  :D

How about hacking Kunio-kun with spartan X 2 characters and bosses. To make a Spartan X 3 /Kung fu Master 3?
Or River city with spartan x 2 characters, but may have to have a lot of custom sprite work done for River city?

It's Laris back again and I have hack ideas for both console versions of Bullfrog's Populous and Powermonger games.
*Populous:
A hack of Populous SNES and Genesis to include Promised Lands content, since the PC-Engine CD version has them, and also a DX Color hack for the Game Boy version.
*Populous II (SNES and Genesis):
Include Challenge Games content for both versions, since no console version of this game has them.
*Powermonger:
Include the World War I data disk content for SNES, Genesis and Sega CD versions.
*Syndicate:
MSU-1 and MD+ hacks to include the soundtrack from the 2012 game (Skrillex did a remix of the theme), and also applies to the Sega CD version.
I believe the morning sun, always gonna shine again.

Here's a old hack that improves Hoshi wo Miru Hito (Stargazers) graphics:

https://web.archive.org/web/20170808132129/http://www.saturn.dti.ne.jp/~dastard/psy/star-omk.htm

You can download it from this Link:

It must be applied before the rom memory is expanded with Nflat and then to apply the KingMike's Translation patch:

https://www.romhacking.net/translations/1259/

I don't know the author's name so I didn't submit it to RHDN.

Can someone please make a ROM hack of Mortal Kombat II (Genesis) that only adds the stuff that makes it more faithful to the arcade version? I don't want the over-the-top crap that Unlimited insisted on adding.

Basically, this is all I want:
-More new sounds
-Returned biographies/Endings/Intro/VS-screens from the arcade version

If Smoke, or someone, could do this for me, it'd be VERY appreciated!

EDIT:
I'd also like the cheat menu to be enabled by default.

A great idea would be to update Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: The Beginning of Destiny on PS2 to have more of the modern day cards at least modern day Normal, Effect, and Fusion monsters as well as some of the spells and traps. Give fans something that can possibly be played on real hardware and not have to resort to Edo Pro on the pc.

Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link & The Battle of Olympus - Create a larger fireball for both games that enemies can't avoid without a timed jump.

There is actually work being done on that by a very talented hacker named LinKuei. He did great work on overhauling the Prince of Persia 2 Mega Drive prototype (called "The Remastered Edition" featured here on the site). CD quality versions of the arcade soundtrack are even being added (through MSU-MD).

a striking hack to replay this MegaCD or MegaDrive title = Spiderman CD Spider-Man vs. The kingpin

- replace or add the Spiderman sprite for the black suit as an extra option, like the one from the comic hidden in your gallery

There is a GBA homebrew port of Bust a move.

It has some kind of washed out colors.
So what about some colorization hack?

Excellent! Can't wait for it to be done. If you run into him, give him a HUGE Thank You for me!

I have 2 ideas for nes !!!

Who can make an x-men game for nes, it would be a great hack.

It would also be interesting to correct the name of "master fighter" for street fighter "and improve the graphics as its stages of the master fighter game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6euvTxC9ooY
