Suggestion for Metafight hack:
⚠CAUTION! Blaster Master Zero 3 Spoilers inbounds! To a degree, anyways.⚠
Spoiler

  • Bring over the subweapon icons from BMZ3, as seen in the Area ???
  • Allow the Hover to have some regeneration, matching it in Area ???
  • Have the Homing Missiles shoot 3 at once and be more accurate
  • Allow the Hovering to maintain height by holding down+jump, like the battle against Kane Gardner & NORA MA-01 in BMZ3
  • Use the Metafight logo seen in the true final boss pre-fight screen of BMZ3

Someone should implement the rocket launcher boss from the Master System version of Streets of Rage into the Genesis version, replacing the two Stage 2 bosses. And while they're at it replace the twin Blaze bosses with the gymnast twins from Streets of Rage 3 (resizing and redesigning the sprites along the way of course). It's a silly idea and requires a lot of work but it would be refreshing and come closer to the original vision of the creators that was compromised because of storage space

A bit far-fetched but is it viable to fix the colors in Ghost Chaser Densei for the SNES? For some reason the game looks significantly darker than the arcade version (its not that the colors aren't accurate, it just looks like there's a shadow cast over them). I would also ask for the implementation of the two missing playable characters but I feel like that's too much. It would raise an already good port to almost arcade-perfect.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies.

Zing should work 100% of the time. This isn't the dark ages; you only get half your HP back anyway. Player agency is inhibited by actions that are pass-fail. Technically what should happen is your Magical Mending skill should dictate how much HP you get back. As it stands, the player sees no proof that Magical Mending even affects the success rate of a spell that should consistently work.

In addition, all stat-changing spells should always work. What's the point in wasting turns on Sap if it only works <10% of the time? Why bother programming it into the game? I get that Yuji Horii, for all his obsession with adrenaline-devoid orchestral music and Akira Toriyama's angry foreheads, is a chronic gambler, but that's a sickness, not game design. I also acknowledge that we live in the Age of Arbitrary Contrarianism, so I'm doubtless gonna get a boat-load of hate for these suggestions. Imagine just accepting an idea and moving on with your life.

Spell lists should be dictated by the highest levels in spell-casting vocations you've attained thus far. This way you're not railroaded into carrying a Priest with you the whole time and splitting the eleven other vocations among three characters. Of course, this isn't a perfect solution, either, as it railroads you into spreading out your vocations among characters based on avoiding spell overlap, but the Minstrel and Ranger, the only other classes to get Zing besides Priest and Sage, can't carry the burden of healing. They can't hack it. They don't have the MP reserves until way, way, way late in the game, and need I remind you that Zing doesn't work 100% of the time. Abilities are already limited by what you're capable of equipping, and they certainly can't carry healing duties either.

Isn't it time we accepted the flaws in a released game and worked to fix them? Anything worthwhile is worth making better. There's a difference between difficulty and cheapness.

Speaking of the adrenaline-devoid music, howzabout we tack on replacing all the music in the game with the orchestral versions like was done with VII and VIII?

Other tweaks include: Being able to alchemize more than 9 items at a time.

Hello (Oi)
Here some improvement ideas for The King of Fighters 2002 (for the ROM): (Who wants to know more or is in doubt, my email: laudinoinfamous@gmail.com, I'm Brazilian)

•The name will be The King Of Fighters 02' New Remix (zipped name: kof02nr)

•That has at least 19 additional fighters from KOF02UM  (4 new fighters: Rock Howard from Garou, Gato from KOF03,Duck King from KOFXI and Eiji Kisaragi from KOF98UM, if it's possible)

•Idea for new Sprites:

-Energy bar (The properties that are the same of SvC)

-Power Bar (Can go for Lvl.0 to Lvl.5,increasing a little faster, for any hit)

•New In-Game Properties:

-Just Defended from GAROU

-Wall Bounce ( Critical wire from KOF98AE)

-The Character goes slightly forward when activate the Max Mode (B+C), easy to combos (NO MORE DASHING AFTER ACTIVATE THE MAX MODE)

-Super Cancel and Dream Cancel

•Mid-Bosses and Bosses:

1- Kula is now Zero
2- K9999 is now C.Zero
3- Angel is now Krizalid

4- Goenitz and Geese will be bosses, but they will have conditions

• Change the stages to KOF 99,00 and 01 stages

•More Balanced

•New moves and Supers and HSDM's

This  is the only idea for the new KOF's Hack ROM, and are missing this and i hope someone listen me.

The Move list: soon
Thanks

Idea to make Metal Storm more interesting:
Turn the timer into an HP counter instead of having 1-hit (2-hit if you get the armor) mechanic.
HOWEVER
Make the game harder to compensate.

How about a NES Armadillo trick but with Sonic CD graphics

VeganDoritos

A hack for the SNES ver. of Lethal Enforcers that changes the damage indicator from white to blood-red (basically uncensoring it).

I would like to see someone make Sega Saturn versions of acediez's undub Mega Man 8 and X4 hacks.

In just one Earthbound hack (SNES):

-Allow players to change the text flavor mid-game.

-Match HP rolling speed to text speed.

-Allow players to use an item instead of tossing one before collecting an enemy gift.

-Allow players to trade items between characters, instead of having to transfer each item individually.

-Maintain the "Use" option for unconscious characters' items, but display a message if you actually select it.  (Point is to prevent someone from dropping an item they meant to give someone else.)

-Specify how much everything recovers or what it does, what percent of their actual HP or PP someone will regain from something, and where their HP/MP will stand fractionally afterwards, or the chances of something working (both in general and on a given turn).

-Is the Urban Zombie's mysterious attack supposed to do something that got bugged out?

-Relocate Rainy Circle to the beginning of the cave in Winters (so that certain enemies don't remain unfought).

-Have the mouse in Fourside dept. store say "Must be a mouse's memory." after you fight the Dept. Store Spook.

-Allow the Runaway Five theme to keep playing in elevators as you descend the Monotoli building.

-Change the sound effect of purchasing an item in Summers Restaurant to "ching!", so as to match shopping at other over-the-counter transactions.

-Change the kid's line saying "Wah wah!" in Magicant to "Yay yay!"

-Turn the lights off on Ness' house 2F during Onett's invasion.

-Decrease money yields by all enemies in the following locations, by the following ratios.  (It overflows the more you progress, giving you easy access to Multi Bottle Rockets that can one-shot most bosses.)

--Twoson chapter: Subtract 1/12 of all money yields.  (For example, an Annoying Old Party Man should yield $29.  32/12 = 2.6 = 3; 32 - 3 = 29)
--Threed and Winters: -1/6
--Grapefruit Falls, Belch's factory, and Milky Well: -1/4
--Dusty Dunes Desert and Fourside (and Shrooom!): -1/3
--Summers, Fourside Sewers, and Pink Cloud Shrine: -5/12
--Scaraba: -1/2
--Deep Darkness: -7/12
--Winters (3rd visit) and Lumine Hall: -2/3
--Lost Underworld: -3/4
--Magicant: -5/6
--Endgame: -11/12

-Render the following enemies susceptible to Rust Promoters:

--Enraged Fire Plug
--Mr. Molecule

--Final Starman
--Ghost of Starman
--Starman
--Starman DX
--Starman Jr.
--Starman Super

(Please make all of these changes wholesale only, so that no one has to implement each thing one at a time.)

Hi.

At first,
Thanks for all of you guys for great work here.

Don't know if it fits here, but...
I'm not familiar with hacking nor programming, unfortunately.
But as a fan of oldschool gaming, I have two requests for anyone interested, both for my favourite console, Gameboy:

1.
There is unreleased Gameboy port of Sutte Hakkun leaked in Nintendo Gigaleak. It's in Japan. There is also great translation patch from Raccoon Sam for SNES version. I just thought it could be nice to adopt this translation to GB version. There will be some changes because of different controls, but...

2.
There is a great Takara port of Nettou Samurai Spirits - Zankurou Musouken
Unfortunately, this one doesn't load from EMS64USB cart, so I can't play it on real hardware.

Cheers

1) Porting translations between consoles is a thing that has happened, though differences in SNES and GB resolution and storage space might make it tricky. Generally a game tends to get its own translation, even the classic gamefaqs style script dump and translation is of limited use. That said a dedicated enough hacker could probably use it as a basis if they don't know much Japanese.

2) Afraid I am not familiar with the specifics of that flash cart or the game to know what is the trouble. It is not an amazingly popular game but I imagine if it was a simple one like a save tweak then someone would have done something. That leaves fun with mbcs (the GB baseline cart can only hold 32 kilobytes, however to expand it then memory bank controllers aka mbcs become a thing, and much like NES mappers and SNES special chips they are one of the main things to frustrate emulator authors and flash cart makers) which is often more hassle than it is worth -- handheld fighting game was a joke for many more years to come and this one worked on my EZJr just now so how much effort people are going to put in for a GB fighting game when "get a good flash cart" is a viable option I don't know.

I think it would be neat if Super Mario RPG was ported to the NES.  I was thinking about Marble Madness, which is 3/4 perspective view, and that seems to scroll just fine.

gemmallo

A Secret of Mana hack where the levels are like Super Smash TV levels, and enemies spawn from each door like in Smash TV.
Chests randomly spawn in multiple colors, giving weapon orbs that automatically level the weapon up, armor/items/etc.
Cup of wishes automatically revives a player at the side door(s) when they die, and the weapon level resets to 1 after each death.
The characters start with a random level 1 weapon and change to the corresponding weapon whenever receiving an orb.

ryba

1. Yeah, I checked once again and GB and SNES versions are too far from each other..
I just thought it might be a good idea to make translation for full but unreleased gameboy game (also sutte hakkun is a lovely puzzler). There's not much situations like this gigaleak and as a fan of original gameboy I love to see some new games for the system digged from 20 years old dust.

2. I understand that fighting games on original gameboy is kind of joke, but from the gameboy's point of view Takara's ports are one of the best games for the system you can get. I didn't discuss this one with anyone, the game works for me on emulators and in goomba on GBA, so... But If it works on EZflashJR, it's a great new. I didn't buy EZflashJR because it seems the power consumption is not far from EMS carts and that's big con for me...

You could just edit the enemy data manually for those. Here's an editor, check it out and see what you can change with that first.

Just downloaded and had a look at, and it seems I'm still gonna have to go through the ROM to figure out which bytes correspond to which value for which enemy.  Right?

Translate the Gameboy Color game -  Metamode (J)
to English.

It looks somewhat like a Zelda Link's awakening clone.
But it's like a Japanese 'gatcha' prize game. -so i guess somewhat pok'emon like?
