A great hack idea would be NFL Blitz with restored controls (adding c buttons over the heads of receivers for easier passing). There is already a hack with updated roster, this would be another great improvement!

Ideas for Game Boy and Game Boy Color's Bionic Commando:
→ Restore the visual style of the NES one (for the GBC one, make it looks good too)
→ For the GB one, Colorize it
→ Add SRAM for the Password
→ Change the Re-Equip combo to Start then Select
→ Restore the narration music for the intro (only used in the Japanese one)

Very true, but it seems neither really stick to the script without any changes.
From the read me:

This seems to berate the player for wanting a clean script. Maybe it's an inside joke,
but it's not a good one, if so.

I'm not sure what this entails, but I'm willing to bet it's tongue-in-cheek.

So it would seem it butchers the script one way or another.

I can get behind fighting smarter, but again, I find the script liberties difficult to cope with.

Oh I remembered wrong, sorry.
Clean New World is the new script but replaces the swears with euphemisms, for kids.
Vanilla New World's the one that uses the Woolsey script.

Haven't played it with the original script and aren't interested, but there's still gonna be a few changes explaining stuff like knives now give dual wield and spears have auto cover, and esper levels/esper points.
If you need me, I'll be over-analyzing how games work... instead of playing them.

Thanks, I'll take a closer look. Hopefully the only differences are the necessary tutorial messages.

MM Wily Wars. Use up+ shoot to switch weapons instead of having to pause to switch
Problem: you can't use Metal Blade properly with it, and some other weapons are also affected
Solution: Instead could have it that using Up and pressing the button to bring the Weapon Menu for a quick switch.
Another Solution: Add 6-button compatibility to make it so you can use X and Z to switch weapons and Y to revert to Buster.

I would be really interested in a Metroid: Samus Returns hack that removes the necessity of counterattacks (at least/especially for the Metroids).

Fun Fact: It's not necessary, it's merely a convenience for people who don't want to pump a lot of missiles or Ice Beam.
What Samus Returns REALLY needs is Select to cycle between Beam/Missiles, Ice Beam/Super Missile and Grapple Beam/Power Bomb, as Select for WHATEVER REASON... Is just a secondary Start. And this is not an issue exclusive to Metroid Samus Returns

Same here, I really hated that mechanic.

Another thing that this game really needs is fixing the unbalanced difficulty of it, because I felt it got way too frustrating in certain parts of it, especially the bosses.

These issues are the reason why I definitely prefer AM2R over it.

More lives would be simple enough, just use Cheat Search to find the current lives. There's probably Game Genie codes for that too.

Somehow, links on youtube led me to the cartoon history of this cursed anime.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sJhnmkM9VKg

And that led me to search about the game info:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hywVUxjLRvA

Wow! No english rom hack?  Would the curse cause a planet quake?  Is there any interest in this mediocre game (based on reviews)?  I thought I'd bring it up since casual search here yielded ZILCH results.

Cheers.

KingMike

We have to ask you do not start new threads to ask if a hack/translation exists.

I have no idea how cursed the anime is, all I know is that I (somehow!) have an actual cart that got wrecked in the mail (casing smashed, the PCB connector is ripped but may be repairable with soldering, I don't know. Just don't like to throw out, what I assume is probably an uncommon game at least.)

Sega genesis controller has 3 buttons. I was testing Wily Wars yesterday. One of the buttons does the exact same thing as the start button so that button can be reconfigured to switch weapons. I have a lot of RAM values of Wily Wars written down somewhere because I thought I had a bad ROM a few years back (it was actually a bad emulator). I just need to learn how to work out button mapping. I think it would be a good exercise since most of my ROM hacking experience is on snes assembly.

You have to be the first person who feels the same way I do on the weapon select. The select button was perfect for being able to one button spam bosses with missiles. The hold shoulder button down method introduced by Fusion is IMO cumbersome, especially in handheld play where hand space is at a premium. And that got itself a hack in Super Metroid because people are crazy.

The melee counter is not necessary per se, but enemies they expect you to use it against have tons more HP than they otherwise would have, and I'm just talking about the mooks. Pads out the game unnecessarily.

I was reading this thread a while back, and it'll be cool to see Baby Mario in Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa. would someone please do it?  ;) :D  :cookie:

I have no idea what I'm doing, but I can learn!  :P

I'd like to update Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake on the MSX's sprites to reflect the changes made in the ps2/360 port.
If I'm not mistaken the rations in the update can be identified before picking up.
How many times have I eaten the wrong one?
If someone could kindly point me in the right direction.

PS I've lurked here for years but only just registered, so please excuse my totally ignorant board etiquette.
