A hack of the OG Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games but this hack will feature actual good English
"Do a barrel roll"

"Actual good English"?
A modern Nintendo localization can't be that poor in "good English", can it?

I was joking lol. I know it's supposed to be proper English not actual good English. I was merely taking a stab at the games. And yes, the English is quite poor in the games. There would be points in the game when I'd be completely sucked out of the immersion due to how poor the English was
"Do a barrel roll"

A hack that makes The Immortal PLAYABLE. It looks cool and could be enjoyable but it's so cryptic and annoying it's virtually unplayable.

I'm not sure if that's feasible, but a hack where all ''duel songs'' are available in the ''FREE DUEL'' mode for the game Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories (PS1) would be great! There is this one track which will play over and over again and after a while it's getting annoying:

Sadly there are some tracks which you will hear only once or at certain parts during the game. It would be great if these tracks can be made available in the aforementioned mode. Either you can pick the desired soundtrack or it will select one randomly from the available ones whenever you start a free duel.

Some duel songs in the game:

I've had this idea for a long time now, but I'm not sure if it's possible:
Castlevania III (NES) with the improvements of the Japanese version. I know there is an excellent Japanese to English translation of Akumajou Densetsu, but that has its problems. One, you can't use English passwords, or any passwords to my knowledge(like HELP ME for 9 lives, or any passwords that allow you to start with a partner); and two, many sprites that were fixed in Castlevania III are back to their original, messed up, Japanese selves (Not talking about uncensoring, talking about stuff like the lesser demon, or the fact that Trevor uses his right hand to shake his partners' left hands, the mummies' coffins not being open when they come out, etc.).

What I was thinking was just to have a "Castlevania III with Famicom Music" hack. We already have an uncensoring hack, so a music hack would be the best thing for people who prefer the Famicom style.

I already know how to edit stuff like text, but music conversion is beyond me.

It'd be nice to see patches for Pokémon FireRed (and compatible with the Throwback Edition hacks in particular) that properly add the Fairy type and the Physical/Special split.

Megaman 1-7 with the title screen in Japanese style to match the later games:

Frederyk Strife

Idea 1: Give Alucard his English voice in Dawn of Sorrow
Idea 2: Restore the original dialogue in Dracula X Chronicles' Symphony of the Night
Idea 3: Map the run button in Super Mario 64 DS to something more comfortable (like L)

Given how Super Mario Land DX just surfaced today, I think it'd be a good idea to try to find a way to hook into the Expert Mode scripting to allow for selecting a World to start on, not unlike how both versions of Super Mario All-Stars on SNES do...

This concept will be taking some inspiration from how Metroid II: Return of Samus can enable save-clearing functions with a tap of the Select button.

How I envision this working, would be: tapping Select once to place the text "1-1" next to the START text (it's not like Select is used at all in-game). At this point, use left/right on the D-Pad to navigate to the stage you wish to begin at, dictated by the furthest stage you have cleared at any given time (i.e. beating World 2-3 would allow you to start all the way up to World 3-1, for example). If the game has been cleared at least once, the word "EXPERT" will appear beneath "START", and a single press of D-Pad Down will make Mario's head appear beside the EXPERT text, like vanilla SML. The same stage-selection behavior would apply to Expert Mode as well.

Quick update on Super Bomberman 5. I've been analysing the compression scheme used for the graphics, and it's rather sophisticated.

It uses a series of headers to determine the type of compression needed, and the amount of bytes involved. The first nybble is used as an offset to several different decompression subroutines: ones I've discovered thus far include no compression, copy from elsewhere - used for several zeroes in sequence - and copy from two bytes back, though I'm sure there are others I haven't defined yet. The second nybble says how many times to repeat it - so 0 means do it once, 1 means repeat it once to do it twice etc.

The question for me now is how to recompress: I can do it by hand, but that will be a tad laborious. I could write a compression routine, which will be tricky but might actually turn out quicker than compressing by hand. Regardless, I'll be looking into it and should I make any progress, I'll make a Personal Projects thread.

Can someone if could hack golden axe 2 to be playable through 6 game pad buttons? I'm a fan of six buttons and the reason that it doesn't really fixed when you hold the mode button while you turn on the game. Its working but it has control mapping problem. Like mode button is forward. And x. Y. Z are the other directions. This problem only found on the consoles. Not on the emulators.

So what im thinking. Is to hack those buttons and add some extra button orders for the x y z. Same like it does in street of rage 3 :)

also. there are more games that Incompatible for 6 button that might be interesting to improve and fix it's controlling.

1.Arch Rivals
2.Double Dragon II: The Revenge (there's a bit of input lag in 6-button mode)
3.The Faery Tale Adventure (Cursor for item selection at shop menu goes wild in 6-button mode)
4.Golden Axe II
5.Ms. Pac-Man (Ms. Pac-man controls badly in 6-button mode)
6.Sunset Riders (Can't access "2 Players" and "Versus" modes if both players are in 6-button mode)
7.King of the Monsters (requires an abnormally long press of the mode button in order to work)

Like so many others, I regret the fact that this has been canceled:

And it was the other fact that fans were trying to do something similar but never heard from them again:

Speaking of King of the Monsters, I would like a ROM Hack of the SNES or Genesis version (preferably the latter, since that one is much more closer to the Neo Geo in terms of gameplay) where Woo and Poison Ghost are reinstated.

I would like a series of ROM Hacks inspired by the Roll-chan hacks, where in Doraemon games where you play as only Doraemon, you can play as Shizuka.

I would like to see hacks for Fire Pro Wrestling D, Z and Returns that will give you the ability to change all four costumes of a default wrestler instead of one costume.

To better match 'Earthbound Beginnigs' and 'Earthbound'.

(Or would Earthbound Advance be better?)

That would be excellent!

well my idea is less of a hack but more of a homebrew to attempt to port the original Gradius from Arcade to Sega Genesis/Sega Mega Drive while adding stuff from the Turbografix 16/PC Engine version, the MSX version of Nemesis and Gameboy version of Nemesis along with nuances stuff like the ship customizations from Gradius III, multiple characters like a Parodius game (four regular characters being Vic Viper (blue ship), Lord British (red ship), Jade Knight (green ship), and Vixen (purple ship) and five secret characters being
Aboa Anoa from Otomedius, Mike from Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius, Dr. Eggman from Sonic The Hedgehog (using sprites based on the unused Eggman sprites from Sonic 1), Twinbee (it's appearance as a secret character is referencing the easter egg where you can play as Twinbee in Gradius if you have both the cartridges of Gradius and Twinbee in the MSX at the same while you play gradius), and a small 8-bit Simon Belmont being carried by a bird enemy from Castlevania on the NES.
in a effort to make the definitive version of the original Gradius.

this youtube video is what actually gave me the outline for the idea and my brain went from there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiAluEPcAMw

This is another idea I had in mind: A Pokemon Red/Blue ROM Hack that adds the 190 alpha designs from the earliest versions of the game (such as Gorochu, Crocky, Gyaoon, and more).

SIM City (SNES) facelift: improve graphics since it looks like a NES game.

How about a "Move around announce" version of Street Fighter II CE'?
I'm not certain if fba or Kawaks but one of these already have cheats for it.
Tutorials about modifying game text would be great too, allowing for newbies to tell their stories  ;D
