I'd love to see the first DBZ Super Butoden fully translated including the intro and credits. Granted its not a great game but since the others have been, it would at least round out the SNES trilogy.

Another game that I'm really surprised never got an English translation was Godzilla Kaiju Daikessen for SNES. It probably would be best to make the title screen say Godzilla Great Monster Battle, or Destroy All Monsters since that was the name Nintendo Power called it.

I would definitely like to see more translations and hacks for SNES fighting games. There were a ton of fighting games back then because everyone wanted that SF2 $$$, and yeah, a lot of them are pretty bad, but there's a handful of good ones that most people overlook. There's a wiki here with some info about SNES fighting games and links to some of the communities that are currently playing them.

If you check the wiki, there's a download for an awesome "Championship Edition" hack that someone's working on for the TMNT SNES fighting game. It unlocks all the hidden characters/stages/features without cheats, adds tons of extra color options for the characters, and makes some other small quality of life changes. In the future, the author plans to make some gameplay balance adjustments too. I'd love to see hacks like this for other fighting games.

There's also a Sailor Moon fighting game that a bunch of people have been playing recently called Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S: Jougai Rantou!? Shuyaku Soudatsusen. It's pretty fun because it's easy to string combos together and there's a dedicated training mode, which is pretty unusual for SNES fighting games. You can find a number of tournaments if you check YouTube. There's even one from Evo 2018. There's also an updated version of the game called Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Super S: Zenin Sanka!! Shuyaku Soudatsusen, which has an extra character. But for whatever reason, this version of the game doesn't seem to be as popular. It would be awesome if English translations were released for these games.

ok, so seeing this page got me super excited

so, WOW! 15 new power-ups in SMW, cool right?

well turns out they are a nightmare to "implement"

it is involved in making your own SMW hacks and stuff

i wish someone would take a SMW vanilla and add these into it.

it could just be 15 bricks at Yoshi's house and 15 bricks at "Top Secret Area" that contain the items, it wouldn't be ideal, but it would work

i know the items werent made to originally work with the level design, but it would be fun to play vanilla SMW with these bonuses

the guy that was working on the "Redux style" SMW hack (that was great, btw) already added in a bunch of features from the Advanced version of SMW, i think this wouls fit in nicely too

the main thing it needs (and other hacks do this, i dont know why any of those hack makers dont release vanilla SMW with these upgrades) is Dragon Coins that remember if they are collected. they turn shadowy and blue (like a SM64 star after it's been collected) when you return to the level.

anyways, that's what should be done in SMW

Those are cool ideas to improve the game a bit.

I would definitely love to see someone make a Genesis port of this game.

Me too. This game starring Tails is sorely underrated and needs more love

Arty

A small hack of Mario All Stars that makes Mario 1 and 2 (more importantly 2) save on a per level basis and allow selection of individual levels instead of worlds would be nice. That's my only gripe with the All Stars collection, and it would make it the perfect version of those games for me.

I already made a small hack that adds the status screen from sma2 and saves dragon coins, along with a few other misc things. Though they don't do the shadow thing star coins do.

RealGaea

I want to polishe something about UMK3, and it's rain stance.

He has the default stance (Scorpion).

But in the rest of the ports, he has Reptile's stnace.

Also, none of the SNES ports has a "SELECT YOUR FIGHTER" tile. I also want to add that.

Thanks at least for reading.

Hmm, I wonder if you can make a Gameboy hack of Mario Land 2 where you play as Peach or Daisy? Kinda like how someone did a rom hack of Mickey Mousecapades and replaced the main leads for Ami and Yumi (I had the rom hack of the game but can't figure who made that version).

I just checked, and the Mario sprites aren't compressed, so it would be very easy to change them provided someone was able to draw some replacement sprites. Any chance you're a good pixel artist?

Being a hardcore Genesis/Mega Drive addict, I have a few suggestions for hacks. They've probably been mentioned before, but I'll list them anyhow, since this is my first forum post.

Vectorman 2 - Restore the unused options music. :P
Removing top borders from games from Castlevania, TMNT: Hyperstone Heist, Sparkster, etc.
Minor color improvements for already great games like Toy Story, Stone Protectors (the SNES colors are so much better!), and Mega Bomberman. The Lotus games could use a touch-up or two, but those are just guilty pleasures.

By the way, Pyron's work is awesome! 8)

Dragon Hellfire

First of all, hi.

Game: Seiken Densetsu 3
Category: Improvement - Balance

Order of Implementations:
(1) Increase the movement speed of controllable characters while in battle.
(2) Make agility improve hit rate and dodge rate as was originally intended. (the developers implemented it wrong...)
(3) Increase the difficulty of non-boss monsters. In particular, make them capable of hurting you more with basic attacks. As it stands, non-boss monsters are just there for grinding and only the bosses pose any challenge.

Here's one which I particularly would love to see.

Make a hack of Super Mario 64 DS which maps the analog controls that are used for the touch screen, so that you can use said analog controls with the analog stick on a 3DS or any emulator, effectively revamping the whole gameplay to SM64 levels of smooth playability.

I wish I was, but I'm lousy when it comes to making sprite characters from scratch.

Skellux actually created an emulator extension that does this, see it here

Hmm... Maybe you could try ripping the Peach sprites from Super Mario Bros. 2 or some other game and tweaking them.

Exhumed/Powerslave (SAT/PS1)
-Make the world more properly interconnected and consistent by allowing for entering a level from its "exit" as well if you're traveling from a nearby level, and making unlocked doors stay unlocked.
-Add one or more save points within levels by letting the player save when unlocking certan doors and/or adding an equivalent to the camel which can save your game when touched.

This is a really cool metroidvania-ish FPS game with a bunch of platforming in it, but it stumbles a bit on these two points. I haven't played the PS1 version but it should be the same in these regards.

It was brought up in another thread, but I love the idea of a sound restoration for the GBA Mario Advance games. Since we already have the color restorations, a sound hack would make them perfect. Especially for the ports of 2 and 3, those need it the most.

eleventhirtyfour

Since the recent hack of Mario 64 that makes it Super Mario Bros. 1, I thought it would be cool to hack Super Mario Bros. 3 and make it Mario 64.

Yes, it would still be side-scrolling but the levels could be as close as possible as to what they are in 64. The music could be updated as 8-bit versions of the Mario 64 soundtrack. Not sure how the stars would be implemented but could definitely be worked in somehow. Especially the 8 red coins.

I don't know, just got real excited thinking about this idea.

The1-uptriforce

I'm long time downloader first time poster on this site and there are few games I've noticed have been overlooked that absolutely  need translations and those games are.
1.) Snatcher for the PC engine CD this port has been touted as the definitive port of the game even better than the Sega CD version.
2.)Great Battle Cyber a fun platforming beat em up on the Famicom starring Kamen Rider Ultraman and Gundam.
3.)Battle Baseball an R.B.I basball game starring the same characters from Great Battle Cyber also on Famicom.
4.)Jungle no Ouja Tar-chan - Sekai Manyuu Dai Kakutou no Maki a crazy game on the Super Famicom starring some tarzan like dude who licks himself to regain health.
this is only a small list I could name a dozen morehidden gems and superior port but I understand it must be really hard to do this kinda stuff. I just wanted to bring these to your attention I've been retro gaming for a long time and its sad to see these gems be ignored for as long as they have. Even if they do not get localized by someone hopefully someone can read this and seek them out and enjoy them for themselves.

Since it looks like this already has an English localization on Sega CD, it is more of a hacking issue.

None of these games look text-heavy so if you find a hacker, I would be willing to do them.

Wish someone could make an improvement on Final Fantasy Tactics advance character customization window where there's an indicator or mark appearing beside the equipment after a character learns or masters it's ability instead of looking at the learned ability list on a different window, it's very hard to remember if a character masters an ability on a certain equipment without an indicator. additionally, when changing jobs, all equipment are always being removed, wish this part of the game could be improved when changing jobs the game should provide the most optimum equipment for that job just like in the PS1 version instead of stripping everything, it's very time consuming to re-equip everything when changing jobs.

And third, the equipment list is not properly categorized by default, example is the weapon list, the list should be sorted based on jobs and the game does not have a sort option for the item menu and it's giving the players a very hard time to search for the equipment that they want when customizing a character.
