Water Margin (Unl) [New Dump 2015] Genesis

someone knows if this Rom is released, I only find the original title in Chinese, without the hack patch in English

the idea would be to make a new language patch to English and redraw sprites of the characters

for example when running a new sprite animation
Agreed, I just tried the game out after reading your post and its great, but the sprites could definitely use some love, and some extra frames here and there, especially Shi Jin's running animation, I think that maybe there were physical english copies sold once but I don't see any for sale copies or roms, for that version, so maybe a fan translation is due as well.

English copies sold here legitimately, or as close as you can get with unlicensed beat em-ups.

BTW, Mario was originally supposed to carry guns, So re-adding that mechanic with a dash of Contra might be fun.

My idea would be adding SRAM to Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA). Something basic such as the ability to continue the current world you left off with lives, continues etc. It's a game that would benefit from it, in my opinion.

Hello everyone, new member here, and ive been into playing roms for years, and recently acquired an snes classic and added hakchi/retroarch. I have no idea how to create/hack roms, but always thought a 16 bit Beatles: Yellow Submarine game, based off of the movie could be a fantastic game. Does anyone knnow if there is one available? Or could someone create one, but im not sure which game would be best to hack or create? I thought an SNES style game play could be best. Ive found 16 bit version of Beatles songs, but only an atari version, which seemed boring, at least to me..Can anyone help?

You know how there's that big FFVII retranslation?  That's all well and good, but what about those who just want to stick close to the localization?

What if we just stuffed in the PC version's translation fixes, chucked in some that they missed like the Cetra being aliens, bugfixed it (Spirit, etc), and maybe update those monster/item/spell names?  This may sound redundant due to the fact that the Steam version is existing on more platforms now, but a lot of people still use the original for other good reasons.

nesrocks

There is a yellow submarine game, it was released for the atari 2600 and it's called Seaquest. Also, you missed the chance to call it 16-Bitles.

UMK3v0.6 / Ultimate Mortal kombat 3 Arcade Port (Beta) version 0.6 2013  - Sega Genesis

the flash cartridge does not recognize the ROM at all, always blue error screen, Nemesis_c hack

a patch to fix the rom and allow its use in flash cartridge

mega everdrive X series could recognize it to play it

So I just learned that the Sega CD has an unused mode that plays CD quality audio in cartridge based Genesis games. The CD audio still plays from a disk obviously, but plays while a cartridge game is running.

I was wondering how feasible it would be to hack Mega Man the Wily Wars into using this mode, since one of the biggest complaints about the game is the awful music.

KingMike

I've heard the homebrew game Pier Solar supported that, by allowing the user to burn a soundtrack CD and play it while running the game.

There's also Flux, a music visualizer published by Virgin Interactive, and Wonder Library (A.K.A. Electronic Book Decoder for X'Eye), an eBook player shipped with the Wondermega/X'Eye (a Genesis + Sega CD combo unit).

Honestly it'd be a better idea to just hack Sonic and Tails into chaotix and tweak the level design so it's a bit less mundane.

good idea a complete hack of Chaotix Rom for Genesis, the ideal would be adaptable to mega drive / genesis ROM, more users than the 32x, include those isometric levels of Crakers would be great

Sonic Chaotix for Genesis

Make a sound replacement for Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure. Restore back the Opening from the Series "Makafushigi Adventure" in the intro.

More details on: https://tcrf.net/Dragon_Ball:_Advanced_Adventure

Use the restoring for US AND EUROPE versions. I don't like the fact that restoring patches are made for just one region.
Now that you mention it, that's not the only song that got replaced, but also Mezase Tenkaichi (for the Martial Arts Tournament), and Romantic Ageru Yo (for the ending credits). It would be really nice if these were restored.

is this possible a Super Metroid port for Genesis

Metroid 3 or Mega Metroid ......

KingMike

If you wanted to rewrite the entire game yourself.
But after AM2T I don't think anyone want to spend years of their life doing it.

julayla

King Mike has a point. I mean it's hard to port SNES games into Genesis type games without the proper knowledge or know how. I mean certain games like Super Metroid are pretty impossible to port to Genesis.

Chronosplit

I can't help but wonder what the music would sound like on the Genesis's chip.

But yeah this is a load of work.

Mother Kojiro

Speaking of Metroid, has anyone ever tried to make a Super Metroid hack with a Batman theme?  I was discussing this with a friend of mine just recently, and I remembered this topic.  I'm not even the biggest BatFan (I grew up watching the Adam West show, and that's mostly it), but I think with his ever-growing arsenal of bat-themed gadgets, the theme lends itself well to a Metroid hack.

Midna

Super Metroid makes heavy use of the SNES's Mode 7 capabilities for the scaling and rotation of certain graphics. It wouldn't just be a ton of work for something that would probably be C&D'ed anyway--it'd have to lose a lot of graphical effects too.
