Hack ideas: for those without the skill but with all the ideas.

I would like to see a hack for Super Smash Bros. for the N64 that would add all the stuff that Sakurai wanted to add to the game, but couldn't because of time constraints and would also add other things as well:

The four characters he wanted to add: Bowser, King Dedede, Marth and Mewtwo.
The Final Smashes he wanted to add.
Add a few more stages and music tracks.
Make Metal Mario's stage playable in VS Mode.
Restore the original Japanese attack sound effects.
Restore the original Japanese Beam Sword sound effects.
Restore Fox's missing Japanese voice clips.

I still would like to see uncensored restoration hacks for the Sega CD version of Snatcher and Pokemon Crystal.

How about hacking LoZ Minish Cap and turning it into LttP with Minish Cap's items. The super bomb locations could instead be hidden cracked walls (ones you can't see the cracks on and can only find with the sword)

People gotta stop asking for changes to FF7. Are we expected to rerender the 3d cutscenes? They won't make sense if Aeris doesn't die.

Maybe the NES version of FF7 could be hacked. Maybe.

She only wanted to go to the swimming pool and relax !
However, there are plenty of tools for modding FF7 (the PC version at least), and several people already trying to hack Aeris back in the game and make it credible story-wise (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=9786.0).
Nothing as tryphon suggested though. A 1 character end-game with Aeris would be pretty tough I guess.

Honestly the cutscenes could make perfect sense if she were to be revived after the fact when you revisit the temple of the ancients.An explainable revival would be allowing you to find the holy materia in the temple of the ancients and using it to revive Aeris in order to fight Sephiroth. Iirc there wasn't anything solidifying her death AFTER that scene, 3D cutscene wise, except for maybe the very end, but all that was, honestly was just a throwback to the very first cutscene of the game and could be explained any number of ways if you wanted to hack it.The final battle where Cloud uses Omnislash could be replaced by Cloud and Aeris being in the party. Aeris using Holy, with a random graphical effect, maybe Ultima, but instead it deals 9999 damage to herself and Sephiroth as well, making the ending make total sense as long as a scene with her beforehand talking about doing what needs to be done to save the planet is added. The third disk should have plenty of room for a few extra scenes I'd think. That random Omnislash honestly made no sense anyways to me. As for explaining both the use of holy to revive Aeris as well as her using holy at the end(for the example I just made up), you could just make the holy materia her new limit break item, which makes her final limit break "Holy" instead.

Do you mean just the composition? The NES can't do that sound quality. I think it would be possible to hack the all stars game on the snes to demake the graphics and look like NES again.

can someone copy the text from the European version for Shadow of the Beast for Sega Genesis to the Japanese version of the same game for the Genesis. The Japanese version plays so much better and more true to the Amiga version

Some kind of strafing or fixed aim for games like Pocky & Rocky. They look and play like twin stick shooters, yet you have to re-adjust the aim every time (possibly taking damage) you step in a different direction! :banghead:

Great game.

I forget. Did L and R do anything? If not, those would make good strafing buttons.

EDIT: It would probably be easiest to designate a "lock" button for the aim. You hold it and then use the d-pad to move around but with the fire locked in the same direction. That would make that game a lot easier.

I forget L/R was either dash or bomb. (I think the latter was X)
Though in that game, I recall A was a single projectile shot and Y was turbo-fire (or the reverse). I suppose one could be repurposed.

Yeah. I think there's a button for your staff thing, a button to throw a single card and then a button for rapid firing of cards (is that what they are?). I say repurpose the useless single card. Why would anyone want to throw just one card if the other bottom throws like 3 per second? LOL

Then 3 buttons can be free if needed. L and R have the same effect, the game doesn't seem to even allow mapping them separately. Select isn't useful either.

Translate Megaman 1/Rockman 1 (NES) from English to Japanese, since both versions of the game uses English (notably, the ending).  :P

I need these forgotten games that needs to hack.

Dragoon X Omega (another sequel or spinoff for tribute)
Front Mission (My ideas is the GI Nattak's FF6 RotDS sequel/spinoff to the Front Mission Return of the Dark Sorcerer, FM gameplay style and enhancements of FM games)

Those both are my currently favorite game series.
