Anyone up for the task of recoloring Jason's sprites on Friday the 13th?

If anyone gets around to it sometime then I'd like to do a video review/ release for it and promote it for whoever does it through my YouTube Channel.

M-Tee

I'd rather someone recolor the movie to match the NES game.

I released a color hack for Friday the 13th several months ago that gives Jason his white mask and green attire that makes him look closer to his appearance from the older movies.

You can get it here, if you want to check it out: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2335/

Could someone port the full version of Super Mario World NES's mapper from 90 to something usable by an Everdrive.  I have literally 0 idea what would go into a project like this but I have seen Mega Man mappers to MMC5 and such so it can't be too bad?

Hi there.

Would someone be so kind as to have the translated version of Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei ->http://www.romhacking.net/translations/2263/ have it so that it starts at Megami Tensei 2, rather than the initial menu where you can select either 1 or 2?  I'm trying to have a standalone Megami Tensei 2 since no translation for the famicom version exists.  From what I've played, there doesn't seem to be a way to get to MT1 if you die, and you can't quit to the main menu either, so I believe a simple redirect into MT2's menu on boot is all that's needed.

Thanks!

Here is an awesome idea.

In the Super Mario Kart 64 bets named Super Mario Kart R there is a character, Magic Koopa or Kamek and he was replaced with donkey kong.

I would love to see a hack where Magic Koopa is added with all the other racers so that there is one extra playable character. 9 racers total.

Burgertime 2, Has anyone hacked Burgertime for the nes? Maybe call it Cheeseburger Time. Making new levels, adding a few, having an ending and saving your girlfriend might make a good part 2 for the game on Nes. The same could be done for Popeye, it only had what 3 levels over and over again. I love that old stuff.

I like this idea...by the way - Codemonkeys did a spoof of Burgertime, where Dave came up with a game idea called 'PizzaTime'. I actually thought about making 'PizzaTime' or a similar game. This game would be very easy to disassemble and remake - it has only 1 bank of PRG-ROM.
I'm busy right now with homebrew projects, but if nobody does this by next year, I will.

A hack of BACK TO THE FUTURE 2&3 on the NES would be nice!! Being this is the year Marty Mcfly comes from the past to visit us in 2015, we could honor that by making this a good fun game somehow!! I want to fly the car, ride the hover board, ride a horse and drive the train over the bridge thru the game and not worry about the lost crap.

Or improving part 1 on the Nes by putting in better music and giving you infinite chances on the cafe and school like scenes. A little longer ending would be cool also.

I guess Gauntlet wasn't that popular in Japan, or it'd have been done a hundred times by now. :D

FF5 - Make dash an innate game mechanic rather than having to use the thief job skillset. This was fixed in the PSX/GBA remakes but they're pretty trash as far as visuals/music.

Vanya

I'm surprised that hasn't been done yet. Should be a fairly easy ASM hack.

Considering there's pretty much EVERYTHING with Touhou theme to it... And many of them are amazing, of course.

And another idea:
ROCKMAN ARCADE EDITION!
A Rom Hack of Mega Man 1 that changes it to feel even MORE like an arcade game!

  • Select Difficulty on boot up - Easy halves all damage taken, Normal doesn't change, Hard doubles the damage taken! Ouch!
  • Insert coins to play! - Push Select Button to add credits, while the start button brings up the weapon menu.
  • Mind the time! - Every stage and the stage select screen will have a timer. The time in stage can be stopped by pressing Start. Once the time is up, Mega Man dies. BOOM! Oh, and choose the stage in ten seconds, or else it will give a stage at RANDOM!
  • Ammo refills after death - Because we don't want everyone to be Airman. You know, that meme.
  • Stage rebalanced - The infamous spike hallway in Wily's stage will now have a pit stop or two for you to catch your breath.
  • Keep track of high scores! - Because we all want to boast about them high scores. in a 1CC run!
  • Never gonna let you down! - Magnet Beam will appear in every place where you NEED it, so you can have that emergency refill.

... How was this pitch? :D

Hey,

Here is a bunch of ideas I get from time to time.
Sometimes I try to make them myself but most of the time just better to hope someone more experienced does it.

01 - A Title screen for Final Fantasy III (Famicom/Nes English Patched)

02 - Final Fantasy II USA with the Final Fantasy IV title screen imported directly from IV (Famicom), Like the patch that is on here that changes the Final Fantasy III USA's title screen into Final Fantasy VI's.
I also saw a patch on here that converts Earthbound's Title screen into Mother 2.

03 - A fully translated Dracula II - The Accursed Seal for Famicom Disk System.
I heard there was one going under way but haven't heard anything since.

04 - Metroid II - Return Of Samus ported to the NES.

05 - Super Metroid's title screen converted into Metroid III.

06 - Metroid Fusion's title screen converted into Metroid IV.

07 - Metroid Zero Mission's title screen converted into simply Metroid.

08 - A patch that converts the english Earthbound Zero's title screen back to Mother.

09 - Bowser replacing Wart in Super Mario Bros. 2 (Nes)

10 - Super Smash Bros for the NES.

11 - A utility to edit Castlevania IV's maps like Stake and Revamp are used for Castlevania I and III.

12 - A patch that puts the VRC6 music into the American Castlevania III.

13 - Play as the Shredder in TMNT I for Nes.

14 - Be able to select all characters and maps in TMNT Tournament Fighters (Genesis)
Still upsets me to see in the instruction manual player 1 as Triceriton. What a tease.

15 - Oh oh, Here's my favorite for last, A patch that converts the gore factors back into Castlevania IV USA.
Like the blood on stage 8 instead of slime. All the naked statues and such. Etc.

It's not just under way, it's current version sports several different fully translated language options and several additions and tweaks.
The thread should be in the first or second page of the Personal Projects forum.

Not possible. To use the VRC6 music, well, requires a VRC6. You could probably hack the Japanese version to contain the US content (script, difficulty changes, whatever).

Final Fantasy VI - Ted Woolsey Uncensored Edition does that and more to Final Fantasy VI.

As for Final Fantasy IV - Namingway Edition has as close as it can get currently added in. The Super Famicom title screen has a pallette issue that we had difficulty importing directly without changing it.

Take a look at both in my sig.

MetalSmasher86

As a Fire Emblem fan, I'd like to see the series adapted into different genres, like a JRPG (as a hack of Final Fantasy 6 for example) or a hack-and-slash platformer for the swordslinger characters (not sure which game to hack for this one. Maybe Actraiser's Professional mode, maybe even Zelda 2 if you really want to get retro).

08 - A patch that converts the english Earthbound Zero's title screen back to Mother.

You have several options for that one:

1) My hack Mother 25th Faithful Edition, which is a fork of DragondePlatino's hack.
One of its goals was to restore a faithful MOTHER title screen to the hack:
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2318/

2) DragonDePlatino's very own Mother 25th Anniversary Edition. LOL :P
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2211/

3) A hack that does simply that, convert EB Zero to Mother in the Title Screen:
https://forum.starmen.net/forum/Community/PKHack/Earthbound-Zero-with-MOTHER-title-screen/page/1

Select your patch. :P

One idea is convert Donkey Kong into a NES version of Chuckie Egg
