Castlevania: Aria of sorrow NUZLOCKE
« on: March 15, 2021, 07:14:12 pm »
Hey guys, I'm working on a project that is about modding the original Aria of Sorrow into a harder, more challenging game.

There is a ton of things that have changed:

-Stronger enemies
-Harder scenarios and bosses
-All items are useful in this game
-BUILDS to try out. I think I have never seen this on a castlevania game.

The game can be exhausting but I think this rework is pretty much better than the original game.

Just noticing the project here, I don't know how much time it will take me but the project is done about the 60% already.

See you all!

There's an editor for any of the GBA Castlevania games?

How exactly does that make it a nuzlocke, when a nuzlocke is a specific set of rules usually applies to monster catching games and isn't just "really hard mode?

That's what I was wondering. I assumed "Kaizo" would make more sense. :P

Yeah exactly. I'm not against this hack's idea, but a more appropriate name wouldn't hurt. Ultra-Hard or something would be good too.

I'm disappointed at the prospect. It would be more interesting if it was like an auto-equip hack, where everything you pick is automatically equipped.

There's a challenge some people that plays Igavanias does that have basically the following rules:
1. Whatever drops, you have to pick up and equip.
2. Only exception to the above is if you need to switch out to something else to progress, but immediately after revert to what you had before.
3. (Optional) No farming to switch out to something else.
4. (Also optional) No saving.

No its not a randomizer, the game its pretty interactive, you are constatly switching items and stuff between scenarios beacause everything is useful in this mod, but its not thought to be a randomizer.

Anyways the game is giving a lot of bugs and I don't even know why (it is my first game tough). I should have tried a DS game instead of GBA, probably this was a key problem. I don't know if I will release it because of the bugs.

The game was truly challenging and you needed to equip yourself big potions n stuff for every boss (like in dark souls, bosses are a pain in the ass), it was pretty good in that aspect, but I think I will just not release it because I cannot fix the bugs honestly. I don't even know why they appear.

UPDATE: The game can be released, if I adjust everything properly.

Project is done about 80% progress. So I guess that soon the project will be released.
