Question about Tile Editor Pro

Hello,
I'm a noob who is trying to get into NES ROM hacking and I was curious about using Tile Editor Pro. I was wondering if anyone else uses Mac OS X and has used Tile Editor Pro. It downloaded successfully but won't allow me to open any NES ROM files. I was wondering if anyone knew what I was doing incorrectly or maybe could give me a direction on how to download the latest version of Tile Editor Pro? (I think the one from this site might be old, but that's just an assumption)

P.S. I found the Tile Editor Pro Page on Github but I downloaded it and am literally clueless about how to configure any of the files.
