Hey there,

I'm bringing you all my newest project - which is 100% playable and done. I have no plans on adding diacritics so far, as I have tried my best to translate the game without using them.

This is a translation that doesn't have the enemies' names, nor those of items, translated. That comes from my personal preference (and that of several Brazilian players) who find it strange to play the game with 100% translated stuff. As we've grown up reading terms such as Healing Herb or Silver Sword, it's just plain weird to read them otherwise.

Here are a few pics. The IPS will be ready for download ASAP.

That's very interesting about the monster/item names not being translated! I kind of get it though. If I were playing a Megami Tensei game and suddenly read 'fire' instead of 'agi' I would be pretty perplexed and confused so I kind of get it. Great job on the translation!

Hello! I have quite advanced the translation of the same game into Catalan and then it is possible that I will do it in Spanish. I've been testing the game for months and reading information from said rom and you could improve the patch by making the text windows of the menus larger and in this way not having to abbreviate words. Look at some of my snapshot and if you are interested send a personal message.

Yeah! I have tried to keep monsters' names, skills and items as they were originally. I guess that might become some sort of pattern of my projects :P

Thanks a lot for the words!

I just don't like how the dialog turned out. The original Dragon Warrior used a very thick old english accent, so make you could try to replicate it by using "tu" instead of "vocĂȘ". Just try to not go overboard with this old-looking dialogue. The lack of diacritic marks is somewhat irritating, but adding them was never an easy task to begin with so they can be ignored. I think the verbs on the menu should be on infinite rather than imperative, such as using "Falar" instead of "Fale". Perhaps you could expand the size of the menu options by changing the pointers around. Other than that, the translation is looking very solid.
Edit: The patch is already up? Maybe you could use my advice for when you try to translate the rest of the DW games, then! Just a suggestion.

I decided to localize it as it once was in JP, where the mannerisms present in the English localization are nowhere to be found.

But yeah, I'll definitely take the suggestions regarding the infinitive - capped verbs irk me as well, but that's what I could do with my limited knowledge.

And hey, since you also translate in PT, we could work on something together sometime. :)  Thanks for the words!

No problem. Maybe in a future version you figure out how to expand that menu and put in longer words.
