Evermore Format Exploration Project

greetings Secret Of Evermore fan,

a project has been created to decipher the SRAM format of SoE as completely as possible. Currently about 54% are still unknown.
A must to create a full capable savegame editor.

Community help is required for this project. The more people participate, the faster and more accurate the results.

For this purpose, an open source tool for comparing SRAM (* .srm) files was developed.

If someone is interested in participating in the project, they can find out more on the project page .

We're currently trying to map the (W)RAM map to SRAM.

If someone already done stuff like this (for other games), your help/knowledge would be appreciated.

W-RAM <> S-RAM Map mapping is successfully done. Thanks to phonymike.

It's now possible to do S-RAM comparison from savestates WHILE you're playing. That's so cool.

How?
S-RAM comparer now has a filewatcher included.

Steps:
1) In your Emulator, map create-savestate function to a button of your controller or keyboard
2) Run S-RAM Comparer with filewatcher enabled and path to your savestate file
3) Play SoE and press your save button everytime you want to compare a change in S-RAM.
4) S-RAM Comparer does the comparison automatically and optionally exports the results. After each comparison the comp-file will be overwritten (default, but configurable)
