I have a critique for the living flame enemy. I suggest not using a black outline if at all possible.
In fact any enemy that is, shall we say, energy based (?) should not use a black outline as doing so will make them pop better IMO.

Everything is being redone.  There won't be any enemies from Castlevania 3 seen in AoC.

One of the reasons main reasons why the re-designs are going through multiple revisions has to do with stages. A stage with a blue background might make a blue enemy harder to see, so were developing enemies along with their stages to keep everything visible and stylistically consistent. :)
Also worked on the point numbers and shrank the AoC sub title to fit into the original's space in the CHR

I have to say now that I have gotten a chance to really play Bloodstained RotM, I'm very open to having a CV game with unique monsters designed in a completely different style.
So I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

Looks promising. I would really like to see this hack being designed around the improved controls with inertia hack being included by default.

Toffi

I can confirm that many of the improvements the controls hack gave CV3 have been implemented
(and a few more quality of life feature's are planned on top of them) ;)

You & the others keep the awesome work!

When Dragoon first had the project, he called his style SotN 8 bit.  He use to have an exact style like me as I taught him how to sprite.  Not sure when he picked it up but that's what he got.

Here's his Sonia sprite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqxuSA_7PNQ

Compared to mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Cip5WjRWrk

We recently picked up a wonderful sprite artist that has something extremely similar in style so every enemy and boss can be rendered to the 'SotN 8 Bit' thing

I could never do his style as it messes with my OCD  :D

Toffi and myself will keep you all updated on future updates

I agree with DavidtheIdeaMan!  That is really really cool!  Seeing the sketches of the enemy behavior is so fascinating.  Can't wait to see how it turns out!  :)

Here's another awesome design from emco! This is the water spirit Nøkken, its a Scandinavian shape shiftier that loves to fool people who wander into it's territory by transforming into something that looks harmless before dragging their victims into a watery grave. Rumors state that screaming their name will outright kill the little tricksters, so don't forget it!

Emco did a fantastic job with this one! ;D

Can't wait to see more :)

Nice! Very creepy looking. Kinda reminds me of the seaweed monster in this one episode of One-Punch.
