May I request for this cheat-no-protection patch please?

I have always been wanting to play this but because cheats have not been allowed, I have decided not to. I didn't know a mistaken patch was uploaded accidentally.

Sorry I missed your post from earlier about wanting the "no anti-cheat" patch, but here it is.

This is the 1.3 patch that was uploaded on Oct 4th, before the followed up "oops I'm dumb and forgot to ruin it" patch that sat in queue for awhile since Oct 5th, just remember you need to use CoilSnake to expand a clean EarthBound ROM to 6MB (48MB) before you patch your ROM with it.

What's really fun about all this is:

A. You don't realy need to cheat to beat EightBound. I was just play-testing it myself and got almost through the entire game with no real trouble.

B. You guys don't even know what my "cheat protection" is. If you set it off, you'll know. Also, there's one layer you can't bypass with cheats.

Thanks for the tip on that Coilsnake program. If I expand the ROM to 6MB (48MB) and then apply the recent patch, it loads and runs fine in Snes9x. If I missed a reference to this program in the documentation, my bad. If there is no mention, perhaps there should be one. At the very least, people who use Snes9x as their primary SNES emulator should know that they have to expand the ROM to 6MB using Coilsnake before patching which can also be done in that program.

I mean, it's not like "nigh-impossible" bad. It just requires lots of careful strategy. It's really only the bosses that should give you trouble. There's a lot of spell-casting items you can use to help you too.

In many ways, the gameplay's been made faster and easier. NPCs tell you exactly what you need to do, and all the boring sidequests that had no fights have been worked around. The spells learned per character have been adjusted to better suit combat roles.
Didn't mean to sound so harsh. A lot of people love the ultra-difficulty hacks.

For caves, I'm assuming you mean the cave battle backgrounds, correct? I'm aware the battle backgrounds look glitchy. The thing is, going in and making sure they're all consistently not using glitchy tiles would be a pain. Their appearance shouldn't have any negative impacts on playing the game.

In EightBound, Apple Kid is completely optional and I actually wanted to discourage players from bothering with him. In case the two girls near his house hadn't tipped you off, you can ignore Apple Kid and just head straight east to rescue Rinoa. There aren't any Pencil Statues left in the game either, so his Pencil Key would do you no good. Perhaps in a future update I need to change his dialogue to ask for 20000 gil...

No, I mean the cave areas themselves are full on broken on the overworld.

Okay, so you'll have to elaborate on this. I've never had an issue with the caves.

I love the idea behind this hack! Has the music been changed at all or is this compatible with any of the MSU-1 soundtracks? I'd love to play through this with Ballz's Earthbound: MSU-1 Hip Hop Journey.  ;D
