I will make sure to fix these issues. Thanks for the help. Glad that you liked it. Fourth Quest takes some additional liberties, but largely is similar, but just a bit harder.
Cool and YW!

Started the 4th quest and so far no problems. However, LVL8 gives the wooden sword after beating Gleeok? Was that one on purpose? Just thought it was funny.

EDIT;
There's no map in LVL3. Looked everywhere.

EDIT2;
Finished! A bit rough, but that seems intentional. Been everywhere, done everything. Some the dungeon layouts were very creative and require some out of box thinking!

I'd call this finished once the above issues are fixed up! Well done!

That was my attempt at a joke, ha.  Did you do the levels in order, or Level 8 before others?

EDIT3;
Alright, I am going to offer input on item placement after all which is concerning the shield. Making only one available throughout the whole game is not ok, just a bit too harsh. One Like-Like encounter(very possible given how many there are) and the quest is over. One might just as well start from scratch. Very not cool.

I made a similar change in A New Light where the Magical Shield is only available once. To compensate for that I modified the Like-Likes to steal rupies instead (like some of the other Zelda games).

KevvyLava, I'll send you a patch if you're interested.

I have yet to try your hack gzip, but I must say that is a cool concept. I'll try yours out this weekend.

Ah ok.  :thumbsup: It seemed odd. I did laugh when it appeared.  :laugh:

No, took them as I found them unless an item was needed to proceed. Ended up going back to LVL3 last to try and find the map.

Welp, this took forever but I made a couple of small adjustments.... I also just submitted it to RHDN....first officially-official submission.

thanks.

though I encountered a nasty problem in level 9 in the 1st quest.

I'll just let these pics do the talking.

going from this room after passing through the stairway:

leads to this room:

but attempting to "backtrack" after pushing the movable stone from that room & entering that stairway lead to this:

and going out of that "empty" stairway leads to this (Link appears "out of bounds" near the right hand corner of the screen, oh-no!):

I'm not sure how you will work around or fix this problem, KevvyLava

occurs on both final & beta releases of the game

Thanks for the feedback. I can make an adjustment later today.

I'm not sure what the issue would be here...according to Dungeon Master it looks correct (passageway, with the landing spots being in range). But now that I'm looking at it, I could just use a shutter since the rooms are next to each other. lol.  Funny how I overlooked that originally. I'll see what I can work out. Thank you for your diligence.

thanks.  for some odd reason the game loads the 2-way staircase passage on one room in level 9 of the 1st quest but loads an incorrect 1-way staircase passage in that other room with the 8 orange wizzrobes after pushing that block to open the stairway entrance - at first I thought it was a one time problem but I can consistently reproduce the problem on different NES emulators like FCEUX, Nestopia & Mesen (occurs every time).

other minor problems I found but are only 2nd quest related:

no dungeon map item in level 3 of the 2nd quest

killing Gleeok in the boss room (the room before the triforce room) of level 8 of the 2nd quest yields a wooden sword, which that is already obtained around the start of the game
perhaps change this to another item such as a bomb or a blue rupee

Thank you for the feedback once again!

1. I read your comment a few times just now about the staircase in 1Q LVL9. I'm not quite sure what you are saying. I presume you mean the pushable block in the room immediately to the left of the "Triforce verification room" that leads to one of the keys. But if you could help me understand maybe it's something I can fix quickly.

2. I just added a map to 2Q LVL3.

3. The Wooden Sword at the end of 2Q LVL8 is supposed to be a dumb gag and a waste of time. Multiple people have been confused by this and assumed it was an error, so ...mission accomplished on my part haha.

I've been playing through this. It's a lot of fun! I just need to find Level 9 and figure out how I missed the Blue Ring in the Fourth Quest to wrap it up.

I encountered the same issue in the Third Quest Level 9. If you kill the orange wizzrobes and push the block to go back down the passage,  the game loads an empty treasure room. If you then go back out you load in the middle of your hearts and are soft locked. It's all there in the screen shots posted above.

Found the first issue. LVL2 in the 3rd quest has a problem. In the room with the Red Lanmola's is a shudder-door which never reopens, effective trapping the player in the latter part of the level. The only way out is to get the triforce. If you re-enter that part of the level you are fully trapped with no way out. That shudder-door should be set to reopen after the Lanmola's are defeated. Needs to be fixed.

I also want to point this out as well,  as I had the same problem in my play through. It's not game breaking, but is irritating if you want to return to the first half of the dungeon.

And as it's been mentioned, there's no map in Level 3 of the Fourth Quest.

Overall it's a really fun hack, and fixing these minor issues would really help make it that much better.
