I have a little question for you, guys. I try to translate Thunder Force IV to French, however, I don't understand what's going on... I explain

I choose to open the game with a Hex editor : 0xED. And I see the text from the game, when I change this, the game can't start. I tried to fix the checksum, but, nothing happen.

I try on Kega Fusion emulator, however, I also have a Everdrive to test on a real console.

Someone have a idea ?

It definitely sounds like a checksum problem.  What exactly did you do to fix the checksum issue?  The best solution in a situation like yours where you will be making lots of changes, is to either make it so that the checksum check always passes, or just bypass the checksum check altogether.

You didn't mention which version you were using, but if you go to this link, you'll find master codes for both versions.  Patching the master code into your ROM should fix the problem.
