PC-98 NP2 Trace funciton with trace mask?

So I have taken an interest in PC-98 debugging, or rather recently learned that NP2 has had a more recent(2 or 4+ years ago) update fork called NP2Debug, that almost features a complete debugger. I say almost, because it appears access to VRAM, TXTRAM, and trace logging as well as a trace filter option is not yet implemented into the emulator. Please keep in mind I've only read about TXTRAM, I don't know if that's a real thing but it appears to be. But after doing some digging, it seems that NP2 has had a code trace option since around 2000-2005(of course, getting that enabled back then would have been quite frustrating considering how little I knew about programming!). So my question is: Does anyone know what the Trace.cpp part of the NP2 source is used for? Is it part of a code trace function that was never implemented via gui? And if so, how can one go about activating it? Or is it for something else entirely and have nothing to do with code logging?
