Forgive me for getting off-topic, but can we please take down that poll? It's been quite irrelevant for a while now.
Pardon the late reply. I haven't been in this thread for a while since my hiatus isn't quite over yet ( Soon. Promise. ) I don't know of a way to remove the poll without replacing it with a new one, so i'm sorry if it's a cause of grief, I know i'm going against the result of the poll now so I'm sure it can be a sore spot.  Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas for a poll to replace it with at the moment. Most of the things I was on the fence about are decided. If you've got any ideas for a new poll I'd like to hear them.

On another note... I'm sure everyone's heard about the giga leak by now, with Super Mario All-Stars being one of the games to have leaked content.  I'm not exactly sure what it is that leaked, and anything besides sprites wouldn't be very useful to me since I've no knowledge of coding, although it could be of use to those who've expressed interest in helping with the more complex stuff, I don't know for sure, but if you think anything in the giga leaks could be useful to this project, especially if it's a sprite, i'd like to hear it.

If you use Twitter you can see a few sprites there with a simple hashtag (not sure if I can post it here).

A few of those reminded me of your work, so maybe you should take a look, just for inspiration or to compare.

1. No problem at all! Due to personal issues at my home and some other things, I was unable to reply in this thread anyway.
2. In regards to removing a poll without replacing it with a new one, I guess you can ask a moderator.

Yo Pocket, is it okay if I join in? I'm very handy with sprites.

Hi. Just found this project you were working on. I just wanted to say that you're doing a really great job with this. I heard that you were going on a haitus, so if possible, I would love to try this out once this is released.

What were you thinking of contributing? I've got most of the important stuff covered already. The first page hasn't been updated in a while but most of what's left is just little tedious things like the seemingly endless variants on the power ups in SMB3, a few enemies from the Mario Bros. Minigame, better Small Mario and Luigi sprites for Lost Levels, maybe touching up a few existing things.   The rest is just waiting on MetalWario64's Mario and Luigi sprites for SMB1, and the build script from DarkSamus99.

Though I also haven't even touched on the stuff stratoform contributed yet.

I aim to start working on it again soon. It would be really nice to get this done by year's end in time for the Super Mario 35th anniversary. If I must I may end up pushing ahead without help, but that may require me to re-work my plans about the transformed Kings from Mario 3, I'll have to scrap mecha mouser and dry-clyde, and  I'll have to just re-use my Lost Level Mario sprites for SMB1.

Hey everyone, It's the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros! I feel bad for all those bumps that didn't have anything to show for it, so I whipped up a little something this morning...
Surprise! Here's a demo .... for Super Mario Bros. 2

https://mega.nz/folder/6CRU3ADY#xV3kUhMufDyreEL_OfErDA

Why Super Mario Bros. 2 and not Super Mario Bros?  Give me a break. SMB1 isn't quite done. The sprites I've done are meant for Lost Levels and I still haven't done the small sprites yet. Also, I'm using Yoshi Fanatic's hack that splits into individual games. I couldn't get the brick fix patch to work on stand alone SMB or Lost levels, and I couldn't stomach the idea of my version of SMB1 not having the brick fix.

Now a few things to note about this Demo.
This Demo does not have any of the color pallet changes in it... with the exception of the un-ripe turnip from the box art of SMB2. So that means Triclyde is still green, Wart's robe is really light blue, Toad's cap still has the yellow hue, Luigi's green hasn't been darkened, and there isn't any of the blue in the Princess's sprite.   The color pallet editing is really tedious work that I want to save for the final version of the game, and since Yoshi Fanatic's hack technically builds an entirely new rom, I couldn't keep any of my progress from the full game's color pallet work.

And second of all, this patch is meant for The Super Mario All-Stars + World rom, I specifically patched it to Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World (U) [!]

EDIT: Since my patch was giving people issues, I've added a second patch. If you're using the Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World (USA).sfc rom, use SMB2(USA).ips

If you patch it to other versions of the game, the graphics will be scrambled. I assume this is because Yoshi Fanatic's hack is only meant to build SMAS+W and not SMAS.  A real shame, I don't intend to make a SMAS+World version of this hack since I can't do anything about the Koopaling colors and the simplistic SMW color pallet is driving me crazy.  I really could have used the build script to speed up what's left of the rest of the hack instead of picking through the fully assembled rom for the sprites I need to edit.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Just keep what I said about the pallet in mind.

PS: If anyone can actually figure out how to make the brick fix work on individual SMB and TLL, let me know, I still really like the idea of having the games split up on my SNES classic menu.
EDIT: I can't seem to get the seperated rom to run on my SNES classic so scratch that notion I guess.

Damn the double post restricton :p
It might take a whike for me, but I cant wait to try this new demo out later this week! :D

Metalwario64

Looks like I'm going to have to finally get off my ass and finish my Mario graphics. ;D

@Pocket

Please specify if this patch is for a headered or unheadered rom

Edit:

You really should keep an eye on who's doing your spritework

Not the sort of Birdo I was expecting. If people would stop being vulgar shits, that'd be great
Yamero~~!

Rom is is unheadered.
I did all the sprites in the demo and I have no idea what you think you're seeing in that birdo sprite... And that version of the sprite has been in the OP of this topic for some time.

Goemon

He is misinterpreting one pixel of the neck as a middle finger. :D

1. I have no idea how you'd interpret that as something vulgar. Please elaborate. I suppose you're thinking it looks like a middle finger or something? But that is such a stretch, it's bordering on ridicilous. If anything, it looks more like Birdo's doing a surfer handsign. But even that is a stretch.

2. How about we don't refer to people devoting their talents and spare time to projects, as "vulgar sh*ts"?

Let's not jump down anyone's throat for a little misunderstanding.  I don't see whatever they're seeing, but when I look at the classic birdo art again, the hands did kinda taper off into claws so that little "thumb"  might be better off removed anyways.

Didn't stratoform post some asm for standalone brick physics earlier?
http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=29877.msg393735

A lot was posted when I was on a long break from the project that I was unaware of but i'll look into it.

I've lost a bit of interest in the stand alone thing since I can't get the stand alone SMB2 demo I made to run on my SNES Mini but it would be good for the purpose of releasing a demo.  Once Metal Wario's sprites for Mario and Luigi are in the game SMB1 will be ready for a demo as well.  Stratoform made a lot of things possible it seems so there may still be work to be done on SMB1 before final release, but I do need to make sure everything plays nicely with Darksamus99's "Seperate graphics for Lost Levels" build script.

As I've said many times, i'm just a pixel art guy so the technical stuff is something i'd need a bit of extra help tackling. I don't understand a thing about asm for instance.

It looked like they were flipping me the 'bird'...

I've had a really nasty week, if that wasn't the intention then I apologize, but it really did look like it

@ifightdragons:
Quotepeople devoting their talents and spare time to projects

(emphasis mine)

I am one such people myself... I didn't mean to rile anyone. I had presumed that several people worked on this at one point, and someone slipped in this supposed rude gesture with the rest of the team unawares.

Like I said, it's been a "rompipalle" type of week... If I'm wrong, I apologize.
