How to edit VRAM bank 1 on vba rerecording ?
« on: October 24, 2019, 05:10:10 am »
Hello ! I've been toying a lot with the lua scripting tool on this emulator for Wario land 3 (GBC game), and got good results with it. Recently I began touching the VRAM, but it seems I can only edit one bank (bank 0) although bank 1 is more interesting to me because it contains temporarily the sprites of different enemies and another bunch of map tiles.

Using this VBA's memory viewer, I can't get to this bank (while on the BGB gameboy emulator it is possible to view it and edit it freely).

Its GB tile viewer displays both banks, but that's all it can do.

Checking on the lua functions written for VBA rerecording ( https://code.google.com/archive/p/vba-rerecording/wikis/LuaScriptingFunctions.wiki ), I don't see how its memory.read/write functions could access to this particular bank ... or is it just me not understanding this bit : "GB addresses at 01:Cxxx are should be passed as Dxxx. Byte = 1 byte, word/short = 2 bytes, dword/long = 4 bytes." ?

Any help is appreciated !  :)
