Heyo, Gzip!!! Hey, my dude, I hope you didn't take my post the wrong way, because I'm a huge fan of your hacking work and like I said I wasn't trying to bash anyone about it, but the dungeon music definitely comes across as exactly what it is. The original tune with length and velocities altered. I was trying to offer constructive criticism, though if that didn't come through, I apologize. I hope no feelings were hurt though. Because while you might not currently be Beethoven on the NES yet, everything else you do is amazing and commands my respect... I'm just a noob here in this scene as you can probably tell from having absolutely nothing published under my belt yet, but I hope to change that soon.

Where the second part of my highly caffienated rant came from is the fact that I am a composer and have been a multi-instrumentalist since I started learning music in middle school. I WANT to produce something better. I WANT to be that guy that people hit up when they need some dope music for their Castlevania hack. But I'm still learning all this stuff. But between my background as an artist and a musician, as well as a computer literate gamer since the Atari VCS/2600 era, I already have a leg up on a good chunk of these skills. I hope people here will start seeing my name in the credits sooner than later but I can't make a hack get finished any faster than the people I'm working with and they can't publish theirs if I'm dropping the ball and procrastinating... Blah blah blah.

Anyway, Gzip, Iapologize if my comment came across as offensive. It was not meant to be, but I'm a red c*nt hair away from diagnosable autism and don't read people pr situations very well, so I make bad jokes and say stupid shit all the time. It's a wonder I have any friends, honestly. I hope you accept my apology and know that I have a lot of respect for you... And all of you here doing things that I can't do and creating things that I derive such joy and spend a lot of my time consuming. Wherever you are from: Cheers, Prost, Skol, Na Z'drovi ... May the genitals of someone attractive find comfort and respite in the company of your own repoductive bits in these troubled times. Godspeed, all of you... But especially you, Gzip.
Yo! I be gettin' them fat stacks shootin smack, makin rom hacks and sniffin butt-cracks... Boy,  I know this rhyme is whack, and my use of alliteration isn't exactly exhilarating, but it sure beats being depressed and on medicine, dressed like a furry and beating my meat to venison.

It's all good Creature. Looking forward to hearing your work when it's released. Maybe I'll revisit that dungeon music after all if it's a weak spot in the hack. Can't say that'd be much better a second time around tho. Could always offer an optional patch to go back to the original. Anyway, don't want to hijack this thread any longer. :-X

You're free to hijack it anytime you want :P
I'd be interested in seeing the spin you give to your track if you do go back to it!

Any plans to implement the newest English fantranslation for the Famicom release?

Quote from: tacoschip on May 06, 2023, 10:38:44 AMDo you have save or sram file before entering Dungeon 8 or 9? Which patches were used, and what order?

Were you able to find out what was causing the map for Dungeon 9 to show up?
I've been getting reports on GitHub about people getting the full minimap for Dungeon 9 visible when they enter the dungeon:
https://github.com/ShadowOne333/The-Legend-of-Zelda-Redux/issues/15

According to the reports, it seems that getting the maps in earlier dungeons makes the one for Dungeon 9 appear as explored, and this also happens in Dungeons 7 and 8 from what I've heard. Possibly could be just entering Dungeon 9 alone that triggers it.

Glad there were no hard feelings about my errant and always hyperbolic mouth... Maybe you Djentlemen can answer me this question? I'm of the understanding that Famistudio  tracks are easily used in NES games and hacks. Is this true? Because I figured out the basic stuff I needed to figure out and can start making some music for folks as long as I'm able to use Famistudio like the low talent path of least resistance jackass that I am... And with that said, Shadow, what's the current dungeon music line up looking like? Even if I'm off base about how thorough my own skills are just yet, I ran across a veritable treasure trove of Legend of Zelda FamiTracker songs a week or two ago that I've been meaning to share with you for possible weazing of the grindage as the great 20th century thinker Pauly Shore, once elucidated.

The current tracklist goes as follows:

- Original Dungeon Theme from Zelda 1
- A New Light dungeon theme
- Perils of Darkness dungeon theme (basically the original theme with a slight instrument modification)
- Triforce Courage dungeon theme (backport of one of ALttP's dungeon themes)

Hi! Now I'm playing this mod and it's fantastic, but maybe there's a problem whit the dungeon maps, I think are the dungeons 8 & 9, They had the complete map just at the start of the dungeons.

Both 1st and 2nd quest.
There's an ongoing report on GitHub about Dungeons 7 and 8 having full maps upon entering, but I haven't checked what kind of maps/compass combinations activates the full maps for both dungeons.
Dungeon 9's was fixed a while ago.

I wasn't able to reproduce this problem since I already have a save file with all dungeons completed & all items collected (and all dungeon bosses including Ganon beaten)

also maybe include an optional anti epilepsy or anti flashing patch to reduce the amount of flashing effects (for photosensitive people)

the latest versions of this guy's game implement such measure (as mentioned in the latest readme file)

There is no need. The original game itself came with such a warning and it is a known factor. For hacks to have a similar warning would be needless and redundant.

From what I remember I did have stuff like that implemented into the game already, did I not?
If not then I could probably contact The3Dude for info on his flashing mitigation code.

You are misunderstanding.

He isn't asking for an epilepsy warning, but rather a removal of flashes.
