I'm really sorry if this is the wrong place to put this. But I've been having problems with applying patches to Genesis games. I have a few .ips patches, which I use LunarIPS to patch with.
Or at least I would. Let me explain.

For example, I have an .ips file that gives alternate controls to a game (Landstalker). But when loading up LunarIPS, the game doesn't show up as a option I can select. No Genesis files do. They're .md files. Interestingly enough, Master System files show up for some reason (.sms files).

What am I doing wrong?

Select an option to show all files.

You're probably using utilities that are old and made when it was common to distribute Genesis ROMs under the extremely generic "BIN" extension.
Now it is common to use "MD" as the extension.
(as opposed to an extremely old and obsolete "SMD" format which I think was for Super Magic Drive, an outdated copying device)
