You might want to add some unique style of mechanic to Geki.

Like in Dragoons Might

Since he had a knife

He can also like have those mechanic by using the knife to the ceiling just like Strider hanging in the ceiling

Never heard of that game. Hmmmm so Suiko is a Retsu rip off? Lol never knew that. Idk if I will add anything like that to him because I was trying really hard to make him different from Strider / Guy / Ibuki.

That Layla level is pretty cool though. Has it been made for Mugen?

I think Geki is pretty unique in fighting style to begin with compared to most other characters and definitely when compared to Strider/Guy/Ibuki+Vega, and you did a great job of preserving and enhancing that.

Added the rest of the frames for Geki's throw today. This was all I really wanted to add to him (the Wolverine sprites). Also, I edited Mike's jumping mediums:



Would you like to swap the knife for a Kunai?




Or you might be interested with other effects like smoke special and slash with Pocket Ibuki attack and etc










Can be used as additional slash effect for normal








Can be used for intro or an effect for an attack


Ibuki moves that are not used in any Street Fighter titles and only remains to stay in Pocket fighters


  • Can be used for new super




  • Can be used as projectile deflector - A new Special Attack

Interesting ideas. I was thinking of giving him the Wolverine sprite you mentioned... maybe I still will. Swapping the knife for a dagger might work too. I liked the Ibuki smoke effects and wanted to use them, but I couldn't find sprite rips of them any where. The specials and supers you mentioned for her are good too, I just don't have the sprites. The intro for the Silver Samurai would be cool too.

Thanks. All of the Retsu sprites are still in the early stages. I haven't even really started on those yet. They are just ideas, I hope I will be able to make him, but it just depends on how much time I have. But yeah, it would be cool to make him similar to Takuma.

Nice, I thought I was the only Virtua Fighter fan left. But yeah that's a good idea, maybe the Ichi Ni San super can take the animation of the elbow strike, body palm strike (standing), and shoulder thrust. Was thinking the move where Retsu goes through projectiles and punches could be like the Akira dashing palm strike move. Maybe it can have a half circle back command too, to make it different from Gouken's version.

Well.... I finally finished Geki. My goal was to finish him by the end of the year and I did it. Hell yeah! I've added these to the sprite sheet. I don't think I'm going to add any more to him because he was a tough character to make. There was a lot of detail on him and the Wolverine and Jill sprites were really hard to edit because they looked nothing like him.

Just finished these, and I have to say, I am pretty happy with the way they came out and with the way the sprite sheet came out. Hope to see him playable soon:

Edited the standing punches and made the Ichi Ni San animation. I was thinking, maybe instead of having the Ichi Ni San be like the Shin Sho Ryu Ken, it can be a 3 hit combo like Iori's Maiden Masher or Fei Long's Rekaken move:

Sounds great early SF had few rekka like character.

Thanks. Was going to wait until tomorrow to post this, but couldn't resist -- big update to Retsu: Added the shock sprites and the rest of the damage sprites to the sprite sheet, added his jumping jab and heavy kick, added a slit to the pants in the walking sprites. The only basic movement he still needs is his jumping middle punch, but I'm almost done with that:



Hee hee, and here is his last jumping basic attack. So he has all of his basic movements now. I've added those to the sprite sheet and updated the move commands. I might update the commands to the other specials too. As of right now, he has 2 specials, a super, and all of his basic attacks, ability to take damage, get shocked, get knocked down, turn around, block.

Next up, his throws, then his defensive counters:

I was watching some old Virtua Fighter videos of Akira and looking at some of his move commands from the first game, and thought this would be good move to give him. I don't mean for it to be cheap, but just thought it would be a good way to counter some of the moves most characters can't counter like Chun Li's head stomp and Zangief's grapples. It's not really something we've seen very often in 2D games. I was thinking Retsu could be like a cross of Makoto and Akira Yuki -- a hard hitting character with counters and palm strikes and elbow strikes:
