Darthvaderx, it would be right here

Also if anyone is interested, I put together a cover for the game for those who like to use frontends like Launchbox or ES.

Trials of Mana SNES cover

^ So Seiken Densetsu 3/Trials of Mana can't be fixed?
Not sure who you're replying to here, but if you're responding to tvtoon--sk3_a.smc is the fully-finished Trials of Mana localization. sk3_e.smc is the broken one no one wants. Locate sk3_a.smc if you want the finalized translation.

I know that.

What I still can't tell is if these glitches are caused by emulators, or the ROM itself:

Edit: These images are not mine btw.

Just saw these in an earlier thread.  They're caused by SNES9x 2005 plus, other older versions also have bugs.  Current day emus don't have bugs to my knowledge.

I get them in bsnes too, regardless of version. It seems to be a problem exclusive to Riesz when selected for equipment management so far, as I haven't noticed it occur on Hawkeye, Charlotte, Kevin or Duran.

About the glitches, people are reporting it on latest bsnes (post higan). I don't have it for testing but, while it is not a big deal for playing so far, the mode got a few issues left from what I recall reading.

Perhaps it has nothing to do with the emulator but the character limit, very proeminent in this game, screwing dialogues and menus.

Well I tried playing in bsnes-plus to do some debugging, and after choosing characters and watching that Mode 7 bit, it crashes. Maybe I can try the other versions, but if it's crashing in bsnes-plus, that's not a good sign.

Very interesting.  Guess I was wrong!

Perhaps it requires an XML file like Thracia 776 did, due to the new format?  Has anyone tried it in a flashcart yet?

I know some people have been playing Trials of Mana on an SD2SNES, though I can't vouch for its accuracy of emulation.

The glitch doesn't happen with snes9x 1.60, but it does happen before 1.56 (last I had to test).

Another "no big deal but important to notice", this latest version still doesn't let you access the descriptions with START, inside stats menu.

I used Lunar Expand to expand Seiken Densetsu 3 to 6mb (using the 1st option on the righthand column). Then, I made an .ips patch which converts it to Trials of Mana using Lunar IPS.

I am not sure the submission guidelines allow this. But I do have it. Honestly anyone who's been following this website for any number of years could have done what I did.

I'm waiting for the staff to get back to me about it, I contacted them first, so I wouldn't muck up their submission queue...just in case.

I did that too and it worked fine, now I would like to know if the other patches can work with this procedure, but I'll only be able to test them tomorrow.

Out of curiosity, why?

He may be referring to how this is the same as patches that convert games to their Virtual Console releases.  These patches always contain data that is against the submission rules.

It's a commercially available product that is currently being 'pushed' by SE. That's why.
