Hi, I've been working on a hack of Mystical Ninja (SNES) that aims to restore as many things as possible from Ganbare Goemon in order to make it more faithfull to the japanese version. Hopefully the patch should be available in a few hours.
DDS has done it again on the hacking side but since I'm not a native english speaker (Im' french) I'm counting on you to report any error.
I hope you'll like it so don't be too rude with me  ;D

Merci beaucoup,

Bon boulot !

Thanks a bunch

I hope that the pizza slices will be replaced by onigiris, and that Theatre mode from Warlock Zone III et  Warlock Zone VI - Tengu Mountains will also be restored in that version of the game, and the game will be in its ultimate edition

Great work !

I was wondering if you and DDS would aim for a simultaneous release with this and Goemon 2, but to see it released now is cool as well. Congrats and thanks for your work in giving some much-deserved love to the Goemon series!

Awesome. Very excited. Will be on the lookout for any errors.

Will it be possible to replace the giant all caps text with something a bit less in your face and more readable?

lastdual

It's looking great so far :)

Very minor note: the "Hey Goemon, did you know..." line spoken by your next-door neighbor in the first village should end with a question mark rather than a period.

God bless you guys! Scratched a decade itch for me here, was thinking of doing it myself because it bugged me so much.

The Japanese version is not better since it displays some "giant" kana, I didn't intend to change this unless someone provide me a better 16x16 font.
Looks like the striptease have been replaced by the concentration game and doesn't seem to be ins the US ROM anymore so I won't be able to restore this one...

But is there a form to restore it from scratch?

FlashPV

Someone skilled enough should be able to restore it but it's beyond my abilities.

VicVergil

The music for that scene is still in the american ROM.
You can meet the character outside, her text was changed in the translation to "hi! nice to meet you!", there's a lot of other lines like that made unclear with the translation to avoid censorship policies.

Wow, ça à l'air super, mec, un grand merci !
Au passage, ça à l'air de marcher avec l'ajout du MSU1 (j'ai appliqué ton patch en premier).
Je te prviens si je rencontre un bug.

Wow, looks neat, mate, big thanks !
Btw, it seems like it's working with the MSU1 support (added your patch first).
Will report if I encounter a bug.

I had someone working on a SRAM save for me but looks like he disappeared. I'd like to add this feature for the final version so is someone able to do that for me?

So Im' interested in the idea of restoring Mystical Ninja to be more like the original japanese game, and feature Goemon and Ebisemaru instead or Ying and Yang nd that kind of things.  :P

Has this patch being fully tested for any errors now that it's been released? Is it recommeded?

Trevor_Z

FlashPV, thanks for the hack, I really appreciate the chance to play a more faithful version of this game.

Now, about reporting errors, would you by any chance have your whole script on a txt file?

I just started playing it and noticed some slight oversights, like inverted quotation marks and awkward sentences, that I guess I could quickly point out and suggest alternatives to if I had the whole thing open in a text editor.

Poppler

Yes, I've been playing the game with this patch and there are a few spelling mistakes here and there.
Nonetheless, I really like this project and hope it can be even more perfected!

FlashPV

Most of the text is the same as the US release, send me a pm if you noticed something wrong I'll try to correct it as soon as possible.

Maybe Trevor_Z could be of more help, as english is not my native language and I could be wrong in some instances. Anyway, If I see something weird I'll tell you.
